I am getting my l26 UIM and dogbone brackets powder coated... Would like some of your opinions on whether I should coat the lim to match the color of the UIM or just get it done in black? Somewhat dark metallic going on the UIM/brackets.. Those of you who have done it.. which way have you gone?

I think you should color match the lim too, it makes a nice difference on the ones I've seen done.

Or offset the color so that it's not identical and flows together.

Either way.. I tend to drive with my hood on and down. Is this planned for a show car or becasue you want to? If so.. then it's really up to what will work best for your needs/desires.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

well mostly because I want to.. and so when I do go to shows I have something unique I usually do also drive with the hood on and down as well.. I am often the guy that says "chrome" doesn't make it go faster... but in this case I really want it to look sweet as well as go fast.

what bill said. and i think the compressor being the same color would look hawt. as long as the whole engine bay isnt covered in purple, like purple wire loom and a purple air filter, etc, then it wont look like rice. heres my polished engine bay, maybe someone can photoshop the polished stuff purple to give you an idea.

Damn it must've taken a long time to polish that upper Intake! Looks nice! And yeah the only things I plan on doing are the intake, the motor mount brackets the cross braces and strut tower brace. (And possibly the compressor hsg) And as far as loom etc goes I like the basic black look. I agree that colored loom etc is not a good idea. A splash of color here and there to draw your eyes to the important parts
