No, my question was can you get to much intercooler piping and cause yourself to build boost latter than you should, and I THINK he was tryin to say that it don't matter and using the rear mount turbos with intercooler piping all the way up to the front dont have a prob with boost building so why would I.... But idk does that seem logical to you all or is that wrong and you want as little as possible?

You don't want an extreme amount but there's really no way to have too much.

If you want a slow spool, go rear mount.

If you want a fast spool, put the turbo as close to the head as possible.

Now one more question. In your opinions would be better/cheaper all in all to build my own turbo kit (prolly still with their crossover, down pipe n plogs unless yall know off any better) or to jus buy the zzp setup with the plogs?

Used kits will always be cheaper. Just depends on how long you want to wait and how much work you want to do.

Has anyone checked out the z7 kit in the for sale forums? And if so does that look like a good kit/price, and is the turbo size to small or would that work for the build I was Talkin?

If you are refering to http://www.grandprixforums.net/4sale...ete-68656.html then yes. That is a good kit for the money. The 60-1 will help you get close to your goal but honestly you will want a cam to push you over.

i have purchased and sold to the member selling that kit and would do business again. That is a large transaction, and I wouldn't hesitate.

Yup thats the kit I was talking about, n thank you that deff makes me feal better cuz that is a **** ton of money lol. But yes with that kit Ima do e85,l36 intake, and was thinkin about either a stattama stage 4 or 5 cam with supporting mods but I'm unsure right now off what cam I want/will be the best cuz id still like to be able to cruise some too

The l26 intake is better, that's the aluminum one. It needs slight modification for the turbo setup, but the l36 needs the same mods to it. Do not use an l26 block though, they can pop pistons easy with boost.

Intrigue98 is also selling an awesome z7/Stattama kit with a s259 turbo with the extended lip. He's a local to me and we have bought and sold tons of parts to each other over the years and would also not hesitate to buy from him. His about the same price as the other z7 kit and his turbo is brand new.

Whatever way you decide to go turbo when you do you will love it! I finally got mine going last week and I can't get the grin off my face lol. I've driven in a gtp w a cartunning kit and 1.9 rockers and its plenty of power, I did the st2 cam because I prefer the power of a cam. From what I've heard from someone who had the st5 and the st4 is that the st4 is a little more streetable but that's always a personal preference. Honestly with e85 you'd be fine with an st2 for power but again it's all personal preference.

While I agree with everything you've said.... Finding an st2 can be a ***** unless someone wants to post the specs so it can be custom ground since the cam is no longer made

There's been a couple out there used. You could also run the xp cam, it has similar lift to the st2.

Only a couple though.. I would have to debate that some of the largest, consistent hp numbers were made with the st2...

if i run a st4 or 5 is it going to take longer to spool the turbo up but higher top end? from what ive herd is that youll get a faster spool time off of your stock cam, problem is i want a cam but i dont want some late ass spool so that the boost is only there for 2000rpm(pointless in my mind), i asked the guy with that kit a lil about the turbo and he said its a .68 a/r so thatll pry take a lil more to spool anyways wont it? and if the bigger cams are a latter spool could i run the xp or find the st2 specs n get a custom grind and have a fater spool or is any cam going to screw me on spool time?

The cam isn't what extends spool time... Well, not much at least.. The size of the turbo is the clincher..

A . 68 ar is baby ****.. You'll be at full spool around 3500 most likely.

Now in my case for my build, I'll be using a 1.2 ar turbo.. That's gonna be a top end spooler..

    Stattama ST2
Duration @ .050" is 212/212. Lift is .520/.520 with 1.6 rockers. Lobe separation is 112 degrees

Does that sound right? Also is that the only specs i would need for the custom grind?
