Meth or go with A2A IC after turbo and before SC. I know in your post you were talking about not having much room because of the trans cooler, FMHE, and fan setup that you currently have but there are A2A IC's that are out there that aren't 3" thick...maybe try looking for one that would fit your current application.

I vote A2A because of the simplicity and reliability. No moving parts and it always working for you (when the car is moving)

If space is the issue I'd say ditch the current FMHE that you have and go with the VW radiator that everyone uses. It's very thin and effective. It will help free up some space to fit a decent size A2A intercooler in there to work in conjunction with your current setup.
