Ok so I want to turbo my 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT
i want to do it without going broke
I was wondering what the best turbo kit is for my money
and what parts I should put on aswell
Also do I have to do anything to the transmission

Best turbo kit value is here:

    ZZ Performance

Don't even consider doing it without the intercooler.

For the transmission you'll need a shift kit most likely, an HD upgrade, and a rebuild before too long depending on the power you're putting down and how you drive it.

You better have $5000-7000 set aside for a build like this.

How much power do you want to make? You would probably need to go with the 1" tranny chain, it's $800 alone.

Either way unless you plan on running a moddest amount of boost which would be a waste of time for a turbo kit you need an upgraded trans. low power you'll need at least a diff upgrade like mentioned before and a good amount of boost and power you'll be probably between 3-4k for a purpose built trans that will handle the power. See the thing is here if you can't spend the money to get the right parts, don't spend the money at all. Being cheap is a great way to make an unreliable car IMO, so go all the way or don't go at all. Just my .02 i'm outta here

Don 't even touch a turbo kit until you have a fully built transmission in the car.

Not until you upgrade the tranny, or your going to be stuck with a oversized, worth little to nothing, paperweight.

If he's just swapping for an L67 or top swapping, no big deal to do stuff to the tranny. Just stay away from burnouts. We've got guys running on a stock 4T65E (non-HD) putting down ~350WHP for 30k miles now and they're fine. Just gotta treat it right and don't do any crowd pleasers.

Forgetting the fact that it's out of stock...

It's not going to make much horsepower over a top swapped L36 block with a 3.8 pulley. $3k for 60HP?

The tranny would be fine. A shift kit might be beneficial.

Yes, and thats a stupid choice. You might as well just get a turbo kit for that price.

The same one everyone else does smart ass. A M90, do a top swap, but I suggest you do much more reading up on these engines and trannys before you attempt to do anything with them. Unless your just looking to make a fool out of yourself instead of actually outrunning anything.

    Them thars fite-in wurdz

Listen to the man...if you are gonna go either TURBO OR SUPERCHARGER...go have Trannyman95 build you a transmission that way whatever you throw at it wont matter b/c they are bulletproof. If you are gonna go turbo, like they said, built it once; and right. Dont half ass it and put some stuff on now and add crap you need later. Your more likely to blow something up that way...I know first hand.

If you supercharge it same damn thing. Mod it and watch your KR, dont drop pulley sizes unless you have mods to match. Same with the turbo though too...

And if you dont have the money now for everything either wait...or just get a transmission now...the GT would like that anyways, plus it would be quicker too.

Just my 2 cents there chief.
