    I had a supercharged setup with 1.9 yt rockers. i hated the fact that the blower had so many downsides with kr and such so i went turbo. i currently got the 1.9s on with a stock cam and ported heads. i was thinking of going cam to get more ballz out of it but dont want to lose the roller rocker so my question is would the 1.9s be ok to use with the intence turbo stage 1 or stage 2 cam?

    CAM-901 - INTENSE™ Stage 1X Turbo Cam, duration @ .050": 211º/204º, lobe lifts: .323"/.320", valve lifts with 1.60:1 rocker arms: .516"/.513", lobe separation angle: 116º, intake centerline: 110º

    CAM-902 - INTENSE™ Stage 2 Turbo Cam, duration @ .050": 214º/206º, lobe lifts: .331"/.320", valve lifts with 1.60:1 rocker arms: .530"/.512", lobe separation angle: 116º, intake centerline: 110º

    1.6/0.516" = 1.9/X

    Solve for X

    X = 0.613"

    Don't quote me on this. LOL

    For the sake of my next statement, consider an XP cam an intense 1.5 cam (Inbetween stages 1 and 2)

    I'm not positive on how well 1.9s will work, however, I do know that people have run 1.7s on XP cam'd setups. I think 1.9s can be done with a good tune.

    I wonder if the springs can handle that.

    The XP cam alone requires larger valve springs, so adding 1.7s I would suggest the following:

    Stock springs, no.
    LS7 Maybe.
    105#s Yes.
    130#s definately.

    I could be wrong on this though.

    Lift calculations are easy.

    Lobe lift * rocker ratio = total lift

    S1 = .614"/.608"
    S2 = .629"./608"

    Most vendor heads were originally clearanced for .600", Have your heads checked and then you can consider the geometry etc of will .629" be too might for the rest of the components. Ensure your springs won't bind, ensure the spring seats on the heads have been machined to be 1.800" install height vs our stocker height of about 1.78X" with modded retainers.

    Another possibility is to sell or swap your 1.9's with someone that has a slightly lower ratio. I did this when I had some 1.9's and wanted 1.8's to go on top of an S1X blower cam.
    I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
