I have seen where a lot of people are using stock TB's or modified stock style TB's with turbos. Is anyone using the N* setup with a turbo? IF so, are there any benifits or headaches when using this TB?

not really a benefit in a big tb on a turbo setup like there is with the m90. m90 needs the extra air cause its a Suck through setup, with the turbo being Blow through, it doesnt need the same diameter for the same power.

Once you reach mid 10's or so im sure it would help you a little. Probably have a little better throttle response with the N* on a turbo setup, but i doubt you would see or feel any gains.

fwiw, gn guys run low 10's all day on a pos 62mm tb. and srt4's run 11's all day in the 50mm's. i know, apples to oranges, but thats over 400whp anyway you look at it

actually the more airflow you are able to move, the better. I have a BBK 90mm LS1.

this is the same about the MAF sensors.....

the more air the better is true, but he wanted to know if there would be gains. Im willing to bet it he used a stock tb with a turbo setup (pending full build info) and dynoed, then used a N* or bigger he would see negligable gains ~5hp. Not worth the extra money if you ask me

BUT, there is a limit to where you would see gains that warrant the expense.

I've seen a lot of turbo setups with the stock tb, some actually switched from N* to stock when converting their setups to turbo. I remember reading something from maybe Matt M about the benefits of the stock tb but i can't remember... lol Maybe it was something about the MAF on the stock tb or why they couldn't use aftermarket mafs?? Duckcall still has the stock tb and maf on his impala.

yea, i believe he does say there is a maf benefit but i wasnt taking that into factor. it is a valid point though. If you have an ls1/lt1 maf tho it shouldnt be too much of an issue to a competant tuner

You could use the billet ZZP TB 78mm for turbo setups.
