DH are you talking about stockers with modded maf's as well, or just bone stock how it came from the factory mafs? Then why does everyone seemingly use modded 99+ mafs or ls/lt1's?

The maf will read that high but our pcm won't know what to do.

Saying that....is there a way to tune the pcm so it'll correctly read it on the higher scale, instead of swapping mafs or installing zzp pigtails?

Don't think so. Hence amazing things zzp has for us.

I stand corrected he is speaking in regards to the factory MAF, but you will have to tweak the PCM to understand what it's supposed to do. Otherwise it will be like am I supposed to do over 11,500 Hz

I see, thanks for the posts everyone. I think I'll try to find a used afc first, this way I can keep the intake piping simple and since I'm keeping the stock tb I may as well use the stock maf.

Are all turbo blankets the same to a certain extent? I'm thinking of getting a cxracing one since I have a coupon for 15% off my whole order from them.

Update, I could use some help for deciding what to do on the WG setup.

I want to run a dump tube on the WG to the bottom of the car, not into the DP. Does anyone know of, or have pics of this on a Z7 set up? Also I'm having doubts about running the 44mm WG, I'd love to have it, as there's really no such thing as too much WG IMHO. However it seems like a decent undertaking to cut and reweld as needed on the crossover to use the 44mm instead of a 38mm. I scored a good deal on it, so I don't mind trading it plus cash for a 38mm, or just cash. Thoughts?

Also what coupler should I get for the stock TB to 2.5 inch intake piping? I measured it once but I forget lol.

uh yeah there is?? The bigger wastegate you have the LESS accurate boost control you have.. The big gates are only around to make low boost on big turbos.

If you want to fun dump the wastegate, you can run it into the fender, out the hood, front bumper.. etc....

I was under the impression that with bigger WG's the higher amount of exhuast flow, I haven't heard of what you're talking about. Not saying your wrong, just saying. Also I appriciate the effort, but having that pic doesn't really help me. I'm looking for a GP set up pic, I already understand the concept. I'm just looking for what people did, if they did it, on their GP. Thanks

I ran a stock ported rear with a #4 and #6 turned when I made 624 WHP with no issues. If you have the means to cut/weld and turn the rear, it may be a cheaper route that would work just fine

Thanks, but I don't weld and to have a shop do it, I might as well get a new piece.

Don't worry about it 99p, I'd like this thread to be full of any turbo information. I want this thread to be a good reference point for as many people as possible.

Doesn't a turned primary make changing that plug rather difficult?
