Lil late, but friend's Fiero that who knows how much money is in it had the LS1 in it, but figured out could go faster with the 3800 because it was lighter.Quote:

Never heard of or seen an iron ls1 block, the LS1 was 5.7 and the 5.3 can be had in iron just go find pretty much any 1500 GM pickup.

the legendary LS3's??? because I know the v8 out of a silverado (the ls3) is now a firebird/camaro owners desired motor.
I think it's the same as having a supercharged L32/36 vs a supercharged L67 kinda the same. but ones better.
