As the title states,I have 2000 gp gt and im looking for which turbo would be the best for a dd.
As this is typed, I am leaning towards the z3 or z7 from zzp since they offer to install and tune.
I have heard alot of bad news of thier tunes so I have a few questions I wish someone would answer

1 What tuner dose zzp use hpt or dhp and do they lock them I got a answer its not locked and uses a hpt tuner

2 dose anyone have advice on tuning to avoid problems that zzp tunes have often bought

3 Is anyone running a zzp z3/z7 kit tune with/without any problems

No turbo kit is good for a DD on these cars...

Do you have a built transmission for the power? Your probably going to need it if you drive with a heavy right foot.

A trans upgrade from triple edge would be included

What are the problem points other than trans problems

    The owner.

After upgrading transmission you just have to keep the car on low boost if your looking to make it last long as a daily driver. Just the basic turbo kit alone should give you plenty of power for a dd fwd car. All you're doing is switching to a more efficient power adder and putting some more hot piping in the engine bay. As long as you dont raise the boost and are able to scan the car, you should be fine. If your putting in a cam you either need to have some good mechanical/tuning skills or have $$$$ and another backup car at all times.

    wut.

    No.

Comparing the Z3 and Z7 kit is like comparing a GenIII to a GenV...way different.

Not necessarily. One of the things I like about the z7 is the wastegate is located on the crossover, easier to get to, but that comes with a set back, you still only have a 2.5" dp. Now on the z3 kit the location of the wastegate is on the rear manifold, but it is open dump, which when that turbo spools up and the wastegate opens it becomes more like a 3" downpipe.

Think of the z3 kit as a cheaper kit because of less fabrication needed to make it. You wont see much difference until you get in the 500's whp or above so it's probably safe to say neither kit is far superior to the other when it comes to hp per dollar.

Thanks for the help,Almost all the time it would be set to very low power.
I never plan to cam it for fuel reasons, but have considered rockers.[What problems could rockers cause, fuel and damage wise].
At last is there a way to do a conversion on a pcm that is programed with a hpt to be able be programed by a dhp.
