What are the best ways to kill KR? The highest octane fule I can get is 91 with out getting into race fule. So with that said I was thinking a water meth kit, and some 1.9 rockers. Are these good mods for a turbo set up and good power.

I had a 400whp Ic gen 5 set up before the turbo and did both these mods and found little diff. But the turbo it a diff power adder.

    Thanx guys

Don't use some "cheater" stuff to do it, especially since you're turbo. An intercooler, breathing mods, and timing/fueling tweaks are the way to go.

alky/meth setup works very well on turbo setups.
with the Meth you will be adding fuel so you wont have worry about too low of octane. it takes quite a bit of tuning to get right. be careful some people go to rich to start out with and destroy there o2 sensor.
make baby steps when it comes to adjusting fuel and boost with that setup

How is meth injection cheating? it is a proven way to intercool on a turbo setup. on m-90 is a different story

I consider anything that dumps something other than fuel into the system as a cheat. Is nitrous cheating? Yes. Did I consider it? Yes, cause I have a V6 after all and there are V8s out there.

The meth/alky solution just seems like a quick fix to me. What if it runs out?? I'd rather know my setup would run fine just by pouring gas into the tank than having to worry about something else to keep track of.

Im running an A2A IC now. I just figure b/c I only have accsess to 91 a meth kit would help me out. Are the 1.9s a good mod?

Even with 930 O2's I see up to 4' KR at 13PSI and 17' timing. Think if I added a meth kit that would drop?

Yes, meth kit will help a lot ! Usy a smaller nozzle like an m6 and drill it into the TB. Blockoff plate is a poor place to spray it in.

You can contact Kevin @ cartuing. They're selling an Alky kit now.

91 isn't all that bad, but I'd say you may want a little more fuel just in case.

You might want to do a fuel filter and some maitence too, I've always found that to kill a little KR somehow !

What plugs are you running ?

    Bone stock motor otherwise ?

Are you sure you aren't out flowing your maf. I am running 13psi with no KR until I out flow my maf. This is pretty much untuned.

Good luck on the Kevin thing. I have sent about 3 e-mails with no reply I think Im going to pick a snow performance up in town.

I changed the fule filter and O2 with no diff. Im running Auto Lite 103 race plugs. I could not find my gapper so I just put them in ungapped.

Stock motor though. Im thinking one of 2 things.

#1 my mortor is going to far back and either my DP is hitting my brake booster or my IC pipes are rubbing and this is giving false KR.
IS there any way to test for false KR?

#2 Im maxing out the maf as mentioned. How would I know if I am?

Thanx guys. Oh I do have #42.5 injectors aswell

If you have a scanner you can just scan your maf frequency and if it exceeds 11,500 then you are outflowing it. To test for false knock dump a couple gals of race fuel in you gas tank when it is empty and see if the knock is still there. If it is it is false if not then it is real.

Is it a stock MAF ?

    DEFINETLY gap those plugs !

To test for false KR just throw some Torco, or some unleaded race gas and see if any of the KR goes away.

How are you guys not running LT1 mafs !!!

Yes it is the LT1 maf that cam with the kit. How do I use my tuner to Adjust my knock sensors? Bad Idea? I hear there to sensitive.

What should I gap these to? there the Autolite 103 race plugs. Maybe that why my car ideals like **** after the turbo install

Oh if I had to guess I would think there around .030 now. I wonder if that could give a ruff ideal and KR

Why run such a small gap ? Our ignition system is pretty powerful from the factory.

I run a .060 gap under 12psi on NGK TR6's. Never blown out spark !

I gapped them to .050 they where at .030. I only did the front three I will do the rest in the morning. I hope it helps. So buddie has some 1.9's should I pick them up? Do they help the turbo setups? I would like to see low 12's from my car. I have my mods in my sig, But I think I should get at least water meth.

1.9's and slicks w/ meth and a really good tune you can probably snatch high 11's on a good track.

The smaller gaps prevent higher rpm misfires. I think most people on turbo setups are running between .38-.45. I have mine gapped at like .3 or something way to small and it misses at idle alot.

I think around 15psi people outflow the lt1 mafs also so they needs scaled so why not stick with the stock maf. I believe all of zzp's kits use stock maf as well as the ttgt is still on a scaled stock maf or was for the previous setup.

Is your car intercooled? With 1.9's a good tune and some sticky tires low 12's is in reach. 1.9's work very well on turbo setups. The more air you can flow the better.
