I recently purchased a CT turbo kit, upgraded PT-61 turbo, A2A IC, and ceramic piping for a very reasonable price. It is originally for a gpgt not the SC application. Was wondering if anyone would be able to help me with what all else I will need to run this turbo kit? I know the block off plate and of course a tune for my car, but is there anything else I will need?

Does it come with a S/C case? If not you will need to completely block off the pcv valve and run some sort of a breather system for the crank case. Also does it include the turbo oiling kit, you will need one of those. Also a way to block the egr off if you don't already. You may want to check into what it takes to bolt a CT down pipe to your stock exhaust, I know the Z7 kit needs a TOG's down pipe. You will need to beable to tune your car whether you own a tuner or a friend does. It better to tune it youself rather than buying a pcm with a tune on it already. I am not sure if the A2A piping will fit in a monte or not, maybe someone else will chime in. That is all I can think of for now.

    You'll need injectors.

The cartuning kit bolts directly to the stock catback. You're traction control will go nuts, I forget if there's a way to turn it off or not, Chev's all have torque managment :P

    Why not just E-mail kevin@cartuning.ca

His kit came with 65# inj IIRC. I read his post on clubgp.

Yes it came with the 65# injectors, I have an hp tuner so that will not be an issue. But since I have not tuned a turbo car I was looking at a canned, tunable pcm so I would have a basis to start with. Or if any of the turbo guys could help me with a bin file that would be great. I will be using an old SC case(my brother's old gen 3 has the snout going out so we are just using the case from that) and it does come with all the lines for the oil kit for the turbo. Thanks for all the input guys, the kit should be at the house in a few days and I will ask my brother what all is in it(deployed right now so can't check it myself). If there is anymore that you think I should know or need please do not hesitate to help out.

I personally would suggest just starting with your stock bin file when tuning. That way you know what you got. If you start with an out of the box tune you don't know what has all been changed. Plus if you start from scratch you will learn so much more, and in doing so be able to fine tune your car that much better. just my

I can very much understand that, also why I am wanting to see if anyone has a bin file that they have been using. I won't be just plugging a pcm and going from there, I would be scanning and seeing the differences in the scans, it would be a learning tool as well. I just don't want to run my SC tune and screw something up because it should be different for my Turbo. Trying to make sure beforehand of any and all problems I can try to prevent.

Also any suggestions on mufflers that would sound good with the turbo(looking at the SS catback from ZZP, no muffs since they won't fit the monte) Thanks again guys.

Thanks for the replies guys, I am learing a lot from just the little bit you are posting and what I have been reading on clubgp, and the ct site. Any more information is always welcome. Thanks again.

Just as an update, found out that the impeller had some damage(my brother back home looked at it and told me), so we are sending the turbo in to have the impeller replaced and having the turbo basically remanned(ball bearings etc, not entirely sure what all my bro sent it in to have done) will keep everyone updated as I know more. We have everything for the kit and hopefully will have it running the first weekend I am home. Thanks for the advice I have gotten thus far.

For those who are using the SC blower case for their turbo build up. What all did you do to the case when you took the rotors out, as far as port and polish goes? Just curious what all I should do to mine when I get home.

If the case you are using is a good case that could be used with a s/c again then I wouldn't cut it up. If it is a junk case then you can cut out the entire outlet side. That is all that is done to mine. I am upgrading to a L26 intake setup though.

The case I am using is my brothers old case, the snout is bad as well as the coupler so I figured we would use that and keep my good gen 3 as is. So someone on clubgp was saying that porting has no positive effects can anyone here verify that?

Yes I have read a few posts where people say it is pointless to port out a s/c case. A s/c case will never flow nice like you want it to. That is why I am going with an L26 intake.

Eventually when I know a little more about the turbo I will probably do that, but not until after a built tranny. I figure after a tranny is when I will be pushing for bigger number, for now it's just a fun good bit of power.
