I have a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GT with 82,000 miles that i just finished a turbo project on. I have 1:9 Ratio Rockers and GTP injectors installed. The turbo i'm using is a Turbonetics T3/T4 Turbo running 7.5 - 8psi. I'm using a Greddy Type RS BOV and a Tial 38mm wastegate. I Have both the Z7 Turbo Crossover and Downpipe along with a catted TOG downpipe that is just straight pipe after the cat. I have a PCM from ZZ Performance that was tuned for the turbo and the GTP injectors. I did a FMIC setup also. I'm wondering why i'm having trouble with the car shutting off when the turbo spools uphill and i let off. This only happens when i'm going uphill, when driving on flat road it does not have a problem. My check engine light came on and is telling me that the upstream O2 sensor voltage is high. This is the first time I have turbo'd a car and i have no idea why this is happening. The car runs fine after i fire it back up once it dies uphill. I hope that someone will be able to help me out with this. Thanks

Call ZZP and talk to someone or Matt if you can. I don't know for sure but when your catalyst temp. exceeds a certain value there are certain things the pcm does to try to correct this, which in a turbo car it is easy to exceed that value I believe. Could be a clogged cat already too, most people dont run cats with turbo setups.

thank you, i'm hoping that it is something as simple as that. the reason i got the cat is so that i can pass pa emissions. this is my only car so i'm kinda stuck with having to keep the cat. maybe if i have to i can get one of those o2 emulators that sends a signal that i have a cat if i have to. thanks again for your help.

You should be able to take the 02 sensor out. And set the SES light in the pcm to show no error. You should also be able to set the CAT over temp protection to something it's never going to hit so that will be disabled.

IT could be MAF related, It could be a lot of things.

Not to sound like an ass. But when you are at the stage and power level you are you need to know how to tune your own car. Buying a PCM from ZZP is bad in the first place. Buying one for a turbo build from them is just asking for trouble.

I'll never belive in pre tuned for anything other than just Transmission settings and things that don't differentiate between cars and weather. Such as injector tables ect. But when it comes to MAF tuning when 10* of ambient temp can make a difference on trims...well, you see what i'm getting at.
