what are you guys using? have you put a gauge before and after the restrictor just to see pressure drop? I am debating on what to use....

Okay, not to hijack a thread, but Im curious. Why would you want to restrict oil?

usually it's to slow drainback and keep certain areas lubricated a bit longer

many turbo's use a sleeve or double sleeve bearings...too much oil volume/pressure is not a good thing it can lead to a backlog of oil in the centersection after a romp as well as contribute to seal leakage...and oil in the combustion is not a good thing for reducing detonation

in many cases it depends on the bearing type (sleeve, ballbearing, hybrid) as well as the bearing size, many repoutable turbo manufacturer's have spent the time to research the correct oil restrictor, and you should use their recomended size...

    i've seen .030 on small turbo's to a .090 on my old mans 03 500hp 12.7L detroit (to give you a size comparison...its a 6" DP off the turbo)

well hopefully you havent poped the seals...if clogging the orifice was an issue then install a -3or-4an filter inline...the only time the "jet" would get clogged is if your oil filter implodes and sends shrapnel through the whole oil system...or you have the turbo oil feed line really close to the hot stuff and you end up coking the line with hot shutdowns...then eventually those cokeing/carbon chunks can break loose and get to the jet...if your worried put a steel screen filter inline right before the oil line connects to the centersection...

now that the jet didnt "catch " the large "clogging" chunks...those chunks are now in your turbo bearings...no good can come of that...
a good -4 filter screen is cheap insurance at 20-50$

i almost fergot to mention...some of the oil inlet fittings tha bolt to the center section are the actual restrictor if you pull the line and can only fit smaller wire gauges (way smaller than .125) through the hole then that is how yours is setup...hopefully the oiling fitting has a orifice that the turbo manufacturer recomends...
