Re: Turbo planning and questions
You would be almost done without that fbody junk!
Re: Turbo planning and questions
Feeling like that is true, but gotta press on. I turboed my 95 Beretta and it was wayyy more complicated than this.
I'm going to try and do the other side tomorrow and order the block off plate from zzp. Wire it up and hopefully be ready for my birthday in March
Re: Turbo planning and questions
Still working. Getting closer and looking more like a car again

Going to run the boost controller inside the cabin, just sat it there for now

Had to cut the fog lights out for piping. Probably didn't have to, but it worked

Fuel rails and the 42's in. Next finish the vacuum and wire up the TB

Re: Turbo planning and questions
get 60's those 42's wont let you do much of anything once the boost kicks in good
Re: Turbo planning and questions
Might want a 45° on the compressor outlet. Looking good though
Re: Turbo planning and questions
Yea, I'm struggling with the driver side piping. That corner just
wont lock into place. Everything else is looking good. Rear
mani blockoff be here next week from zzp. Should be ready
to attempt firing it up by Friday..fingers crossed
Re: Turbo planning and questions
Ok, ran into a problem.. With the f-body intake and camaro alternator the standard(l36)
serpentine belt doesn't fit. Does not fit over the alternator. Also went and picked up a
belt from a L36 Camaro and is too loose. Any thoughts as to what i can go with? I'm
pretty close, just this, oil return, and rear mani block off and I can actually start it.
Re: Turbo planning and questions
have you tried switching the smooth idler pulleys around?
Re: Turbo planning and questions
^between the 3" and 3.5" oversized one
Re: Turbo planning and questions
Not familiar.. Please explain
Re: Turbo planning and questions
actually that method is used on the s/c belt when swapping to smaller pulleys.
Re: Turbo planning and questions
Damnit, I wish bout to hit the yard.. Kinda stuck on this one
Re: Turbo planning and questions
Just measure it. If its to loose by how much? Take 6" off and try again. I moved the alt to the ac compressor side, deleted alt bracket and mounted a custom pulley by the dogbone. Walked into advance auto asking for sizes, took 2 tries but I had success.
Re: Turbo planning and questions
After doing some reading, I stumbled on the thread about the CS144 alternator.
I don't have one, but they had used the Camaro bracket. Think i'm going to try
the one they used this morning. Soon as the rain stops
Re: Turbo planning and questions
Yea, its a cluster***k under there, but i got some progress
Grand Prix first turbo start - YouTube
Re: Turbo planning and questions
not bad. mine was way worse so don't get too wrapped up on how ugly the layout is. if it works, it works!
Re: Turbo planning and questions
Yea thanks, long time coming. Now just addressing issues and doing
some clean-up. Leak at the rails, so if the yard is open i'll replace
this afternoon
Re: Turbo planning and questions
