Saw one of my dads friends cruising down the 4 lane this morning. His TB SS is bone stock. I am too minus a Wizaired. Pulled up beside him at 70 and bumped it back into 2nd gear. As soon as I hear him go WOT and hear his start to downshift to 3rd I romp on it. He was obviously in the very bottom of 3rd because I was actually inching, and I mean very slowly inching by from 70-95 but as usual as soon as I hit 3rd he pulled right by me like I let off the gas. By 105 he had atleast a couple lengths on me. I didnt get to talk to him afterward. He's an old school drag racer so he probably has no clue what a GTP even is.
2000 GTP coupe. Wizaired intake. 3.4 pulley, Overkill tune, and Speed Daddy's waiting to be put on.

Yeah I gotta get my SD's, pulley, and tune on. Too many things have happened here lately to mess with it. Got a Gen V on the way. UPS should be be delivering it today. Hopefully it and an intercooler will be on by summer.

a friend has a trailblazer ss, and we raced on the 1/8 mile. my car was intercooled and had a 3.2, but was running stock times. I ran about 10.15 seconds on the 1/8 and he ran about 10.85. I beat him at least 4 times in a row.

I ran a 9.4 through the 1/8 stock. His TB SS ran an 8.98 You sure your numbers are right?

the numbers are definitely right. the track is the highest elevation track in the U.S. so that play's a big role as well, 6500 feet above sea level. that day was my first day ever on a track, and the intercooler setup had bugs I eventually worked out, so the car wasn't running as good as it could have.

Holy hell that's high. The track I ran on is around 600 feet above sea level.

I beat an SRT-10 Ram in my 4-bangin' Slonoma, too- Until he started the engine.

At high elevation force fed cars have a big advantage. My TBSS was pretty stock (we built a 3" exhaust for it) and it ran 8.4 1/8 mile. Now with a stage 7 FLT trans and 3000 converter it runs 8.20 @ 84 mph at low elevation.

Life must be boring up there but since there isn't much oxygen you probably don't realize it lol

How on Earth are you managing to run stock 3 stock transmissions on your 2 cars with that kind of horsepower?

2nd gear starts and transmission in safe mode with tcc fuse pulled out. 1-2 shift is what breaks them usually.
