I surmised as much. :)
a person i know has a 2012 5.0 with a boss intake and tune I cant remember but i think its auto too, he ran high 13s like 13.7 i think
That dude can't get off the line and probably hasn't put in the gears that go along with the boss intake. That intake don't make power below 5k. He needs 3.73 or 3.90 gears with that.
Like you said TA , I shouldnt be disappointed with high times. I sure as heck won't have drag radials and won't shift as good. I'm gonna see about launching at 4k and slipping the clutch until little before 2nd.
First is hella short.
13.8 @ 113mph fail.....
second pass was even worse lol
i need ALOT of practice, oh well it was fun
Did you ever get times with your gp on e85?
nah
Lol, need lots of practice, youll get there.
my brother with 05 gt with 4.6l & bolt-ons did 13.6 in the qtr and was spinning threw first and 2nd.
Either way you had fun that the main thing.
Don't feel bad... the hail mary times you see for those cars are under better than 'perfect' conditions (negative DA).
Often guys have dr's/slicks and fail to mention it. There's a lot of opinions on whether or not a car is considered stock on a racing tire or not.
They also like to strip a bunch of weight out of them and still call em' stock.
With that said, factory stock Boss's with stock tires are a high 12 second car at 113-114 with a very good driver. So you're not THAT far off.
The video posted above was a boss on a race tire in -1500 DA at one of the top 3 fastest tracks in the country.
That time simply is not attainable anywhere else.
Appreciate the comments. I will probably return in the fall with a intake and good tune and suspension mods to help plant the power to the ground
what no tire mod? Those would certainly help......
Tires would be the best mod for sure.
i went to the track last night and my friend with the 5.0 mustang that i mentioned earlier ran a 12.9
nice! yeah i know this car is capable of mid 12s stock with a good driver. i was dumping the clutch because i was getting too excited and not slipping the clutch. i need a lot of practice.
what did you end up running?
