They run 14's with a good driver easy. Also it isn't all about HP. Turbo DSM's are geared very short so they would have a massive advantage, especially from a roll.

Are you someone else who thinks OMG a Grand Prix is better than anything that is not "American"?

The fact remains there is no way he is putting bus lengths on a turbo DSM. Maybe you should learn about other cars before you talk.

i know plenty about other cars.
i know that there are plenty of turbo DSM's that are great. then again i know that most of them are junked because they are horribly unreliable. am i right?
no, i think grand prix's are grand piles. american cars are at the bottom of the food chain when it comes to technology. i just think that a stock 97 gs-t maybe making 140 whp is not going to keep up with an 07 prix making 200-210 ish whp.

GST is going to be making around 165-170 at the wheels, not 140. 40 whp difference isn't a lot when you consider that the GST is A LOT lighter than the Grand Prix. Again, GEARING is key here too.

Am I saying a GST would beat a SC GP? I am not, it would be a drivers race and even the worst driver in the world isn't going to lose by bus lengths. He raced a NA, no doubt in my mind.

gsx would be 140 awhp, gst likely 165 fwhp from what I remember about my DSM days... Didn't think there were many non modded DSM's around any longer

    I fixed it for accuracy.

FWD 4G63T cars will make about the same amount of power as an N/A 3800 will, stock for stock.

But factoring in things stated earlier, it'll poo all over it. Would be a decent race for a stock blower car I'd think if the guy could drive. GSX will make less power to the wheels, and they weigh quite a bit more...but what they lack in PW ratio...they make up for off the line. Pretty sure they can high 14's out of the box 7+ years before the '97~ GTP even hit the market.

I agree winning's winning, but I was just saying there is no way he beat a turbo DSM by bus lengths. I still say he raced a 420A variant.

Yup had too have been a four banger right?
You must really like that three diamonds crap because everytime someone posts something about beating one your the first person to defend them.
Only saying this beacause you did the same to me awhile back when I posted about beating up on one and insisted it must have been a 4 banger non turbo without even knowing if my car was modded or not...

If people wouldnt exagerate then nobody would argue with posts. Most people on this forum like to keep it real. Nobody want this to turn into a honda forum where the Kills page is full of people who beat LS powered cars with their 1.6 civic that has a 3 inch exhaust, and cold air intake.

Not saying the OP made anything. But either the eclipse was running badly, was not actually a turbo vehicle or, there wasnt actually buses between them.

Oh stop whining, nobody is actually ranting. A little ribbing and debating never hurt anyone, or at least it shouldn't. Like it or not, by creating this thread you opened your scenario to debate. You saying you put buses on a car that in (unlikely) stock form should perform similar to your car is bound to ignite discussion.

One of the my first cars was a 420a eclipse, if you didn't put buses on one I would be disappoint.

Didnt whine as a matter of fact im tired of ignorance crawling into threads around here people can leave that sh*t out .whenever someone posts something that may be controversial everyone becomes the expert like I said you were not there nor was anyone you have no idea what my 2 eyes seen. And just for thr record here are the facts :

    1. Race was 40-100ish
    2. Was a 95-96 Eclipse according to indication of the badge on the car was a GST and was Red w/ The low rise spoiler
3.After letting off I was 8-10 cars ahead roughly 3-4 buses
    4. 210bhp-probably stock(stock dual tipped muffler) vs 260bhp-simple bolt-ons
5.condition of the eclipse is unknown
    6. Temp was 4°

Conclusion: you can so called "Debate it" all you want all the indications visual wise point to a GST next time I will be absolutely sure I record the run although it was unexpected so I didnt have the chance
