GXP, you should test drive one while you got the chance. I actually like the solstice over the G8 as far as acceleration and cornering, those solstice's can and will hug a 2" line on a cloverleaf, oh its fun.

I owned a Saturn Sky 2.4 NA and while the acceleration was okay the handling is phenominal. The suspension on that car is like a scaled down vette. Double wishbone coilover Blistens on every corner. I once ran a buddy of mine in his WRX STi and while he'd real me in on every straight when it came to cornering he couldn't keep up with the Sky. I miss that car but I needed a truck.

The turbos are nice but the 2.4 base seems to have a greater aftermarket.

I also used to own a solstice until last year. It had the 2.4L and would put these turbo'd ones to shame. I had a MP62 on it pushing around 10lbs. I was in the high 12's with it. The aftermarket for the GXP's though is getting a lot stronger. There are quite a few on stock internals down in the 11's with a bigger turbo and good tuning. But other than in a straight line, that car would kill anything in the curves short of things like vettes. Even then though they are more manageable in the curves than vettes due to being underpowered. It was lot harder to control 300hp versus 177hp when ripping around corners.

From what I know, it's an ex-SEMA car that had the engine fully forged and had a MP62 on top of it with an intercooler and he was around 13-14 lbs of boost and he dynos around 270 to the wheels. My car dynoed right around 240 to the wheels at 9 lbs of boost on a fully stock 2.4 Ecotec.

I don't think so...the cars are normally made by companies so why would the destroy them? I've seen quite a few SEMA cars for sale.

The Grand Prixs that were made for SEMA shows were destroyed because some of the stuff they did in them required them pulling safety features like airbags and what not. They weren't allowed to sell them I believe.
