Driver mod, breh.
yeah :-/
i will redeem myself eventually. not any time soon though. prob next season.
until then, maybe i can setup some friendly roll races to better judge how quick my car is.
i would like to run a gto, will likely get beat but, i have always wanted to run one of the newer muscle cars
may get a chance to redeem myself. Getting a good set of rear shocks and good set of front tires.
not sure on date yet. workin that out with the lady.
Why yes I did 2-3 weeks ago. 05 Impulse Blue Metallic/blue interior/M6. Working on a new sig. TGTP now resides in the garage.
Dude, you gotta let me know when you go. I'd love to watch you make a few passes and work as pit crew. I can take a look at how you are racing it and see if we can't get that time down.
Actually they are under new ownership as the bank forclosed on the last owners. They should be up and running sooner than the 28th. Kelly who works at Performance automotive as well as manged Redline Raceway is one of the new owners.
If your last slips were from Dallas Raceway (which I should have caught) then I can tell you your timeslips are no good. Their timing system does not function properly which is well known amongst the local racers. The first thing the new owners are doing is repairing it. I doubt Dallas Raceway will be down for long cause with a 6 million dollar purchase the owners are going to want to start making money quickly. Regardless let me know and I'll do my damnest to make it that way.
How old is your kid?
is their current schedule on their website accurate? if so that is at the end of this month for their test n tune.
i wasnt really impressed with the track setup when i went. i had to drive through the water pit, no way around it.
i had no idea about the faulty timer...
my son is 2 years old.
I believe the schedule they have listed is accurate as I'm fairly sure the new owners are wanting to get the ball running. I've never been to that track, but I know others have complained about the water box setup. I personally prefer 1/8th mile and will typically hit up Denton, but my best times have always been at Redline. I was in hopes your son was a little older cause then you could bring him to the dragstrip where he could hangout with my 6 year old. Oh well let me know where you end up.
im lookin to do quarter mile.
are you willing to drive out to ennis, if i go out there?
sweet, i still have your number, i will text you when i find out some concrete details
I think your car can ultimately run 13.6 @ 100mph with a good run with a 2.05 60 foot.
You can do this on almost any track.
This weekend on my track it was very slippery. I can launch harder and faster on the street.
My best 60 foot of the night was 2.03 with winter tires so probably equivalent to your dry tires lol.
I also have busted shocks, as evident from my video.
But I do have a tendency to run good times at the track.
The way I did it, since the traction was horrible, is 1/6 throttle using my left foot to hold the car at the line.
Then I had to resist the temptation to give it more throttle. With the small pulley I have to leave the line at about 1/5 throttle, gradually rolling in the throttle just at the limit of traction (screeching, not spinning). Try that, it takes practice but you'll do it.
I let one of my mechanics drive the car, he ran 14.4 @ 104 mph and 13.9 at 103 mph (2.5 60 foot). I had instructed him about the technique but it takes practice to get it right. I then ran a 13.3 @ 102 mph with 2.05 60 foot myself. So you see how important it is to get it right.
Lol cars in this area are much faster than 13.5. It's not uncommon to find multiple cars at local meets in 400+whp range. Many of which are well in 500+whp range. Infact, it's becoming more common to need to run mid 11's to be worth anyone's time. Well at the meets I go to anyways.
