i have a 2001 f-150 with a mustang 4.6 swap. it has a ford racing intake manifold and cold air kit, a set of BBK headers, full msd ignition, and a set of edelbrock performer heads. it has made 410 hp and just shy of 400 lb ft of torque. my buddy swears to god he could beat me in a race. he has a 01 gtp. he has never raced on the track and i have been racing for 8 years. who do you think would win. his gtp is stock btw

Gotta look at the power to weight ratio also.

    4wheeldrive..manual/auto...cab size...

I would say yes to you if you were a single or crew cab with manual and two wheel drive. But Up it to 4wheeldrive, supercrew cab, and auto and it's a maybe.

I think that would be a good race though...you do have the power.

yes that is RWHP. my truck is a extended cab, 5 speed. if a stock gtp will only run 15's i got him beat them. i ran a 13.785 @ 111mph at 42 with a bed full on mulch.

how did u get away with running the truck full of mulch? and why would you do that? Just curious... 111mph traps for a truck is pretty crazy, not saying i'm doubting you but 410whp in a mustang (which is 1/2 the weight) is good for 111mph traps (probably more than that but it IS a mustang...) and they aren't full of mulch. Sounds kinda fishy to me...

i was doing work for the track pit area. i have a fiberglass tonneau (sp) cover on my bed they said as long as no one looked in my bed i could run. so i cleaned the outside of my bed to get rid of the red dust and ran.

i was out this morning and asked a guy at a gas station if he wanted to run. he just laughed and said "hell no yours is a truck its not worth my time". thats what i love about it, it is a total sleeper.

Im not dogging you or anything, but I had 1999 Ford Mustang GT, I had a CAI, Patriot Stage 3 heads, Comp .500 lift cams, Typhoon three piece intake (ported and polished upper and lower) it was punched out and stroked to be a 306 (as opposed to the 281) I also had an NX 150 shot, and all necessary mods for that, ( Forged Rods and Pistons) and the whole msd ignition system as well. A Sachs stage 3 clutch, Built Tremec T45 Tranny, 4.10 Gears and the IRS from a '99 Cobra.

So you're saying that with your mods you are pushing 410 RWHP out of an auto tranny. ... it just seems odd to me, because with all my mods untuned I was pushing maybe 360 HP, Tuned off the bottle 425, and 575 on the bottle was obviously projected... ( never sprayed it, it was fast enough) Now, I was a mustang guy for years, and I know that the 4.6 modular motor will not make 410 RWHP off of A pair of generic heads, (even tho they are a good brand, still not particulary mustang specific) An FR Intake, MSD Ignition system, and Headers and CAI. They come stock with 260 or so HP. Without the stroke, the manual tranny, or the Cam, I just dont see it happening.

Now I know the truck is much heavier than a Mustang is, but 13.7 out of 410 HP is means one of two things, Youre either eating your tires all the way down the quarter (but with a trap of 111, I dont think thats the case) or your truck just doesnt make the numbers you say.

Untuned I could run a 13.1 @ 106.3. and spin that beast all the way through 3rd. (Street Tires) Tuned I ran a 12.03 @ 114 ( Launched with Drag Radials.)

Like I said Im not calling you out. I just dont see how you spent way less money than me and are making as much power as I did. Before you question how any of it was built, I can assure you mine was a quality build, and my tune was awesome.

I think Im just jealous lol.

360 hp to the wheels weighing in at 3500 pounds will get you 12.5's with good traction. Wich is what i have.

Another thousand pounds for the truck is an additional second....plus the mulch...thats where the 2 tenths came from...

    makes sense to me.

I'm building a compleate 351w stroked to a 393 right now for my 95 mustang. I mean heads, cam, block machine work, stroker kit,oil pan, starter, oil pump, intake for right at 5500.I'll be at high 9's low 10's at 550-600 hp N/A carb setup... Shoot a good of the shelf cam (2) costs about 700 bucks for the 4.6

If that 393 is built right ( which im sure it will) a lil spray would help take your stang in the mid to low 9's... knockin on 8's door depending on the N2O jets. Im trying to get my dad to run his built 460 foxbody in the 1/4, but there isnt a 1/4 track close to us.

Yeah was thinking of spraying it while back but is a bit more risky with the carbed setup not having any kind of management unit or anything...but yes can def be done. just not in my budget right now. That 460's nice i bet

Yeah it sounds much better now that he put a more agressive cam in and a holley 750 carb. What carb setup are you running?
