So here I was driving through town minding my own business when I see a car aggressively weaving through traffic in my mirror. It appeared to be a Challenger SE (3.5 V6 250 hp and torque). I was at the front of the line of traffic and he swung out into the lane next to me. Just as soon as he was directly next to me I stomped on it going about 50 and we seemed to stay pretty even even though he definitely had the jump on me. We both slowed down and stopped next to eachother at the light. When the light went green we both went for it. I definitely got the jump on him and pulled a lead out on him and steadily pulled away. I let off around 115 where my speedo tops off and was a good 5 car lengths ahead. He turned off as I slowed back down to the speed limit. All I have to say is Challengers = big heavy slow turds. My GTP is bone stock and i'm assuming his Challenger was as well.

I can imagine it is. Even with what do they have 370hp? They're just soooo big and heavy hah. I'm honestly a bit surprised my stock GTP did as well as it did.

With stock suspension and even worse brakes, a gtp has no business being above 110mph from a safety aspect.

I know GTP's can go up to 126 cause thats what they're limited too. I let off at 115 because thats the highest my speedo reads and I didn't see any point in embarrassing this challenger any more lol. I can't wait to do some modding and go pick some fights with some mustangs haha.

By mustangs I mean some of the newer GT's. Not the 5.0 but some of the 4.6's. and well... what else are we gonna say? "Here I was looking at a pretty butterfly when..."

good kill....those V6 are cruise ships....there 0-60 is somewhere over 7 secs....the r/t's weigh 400lbs more than the se but are still decently fast running a mid 13 sec stock 1/4.... those new 4.6 are pretty impressive though....not much heavier than a gtp coupe and pull off low-mid 13 sec 1/4 stock also....

Thos challengers are crappy, my bro raced a i think 09 back a year and half ago before i joined this forum. We stayed even untill like 75ish then he went like a few feet ahead and then at 100 he let go and my bro went up to the 109 MPH limit. The guy said his car was limited to 101 MPH, i did not think they were limited to that slow speed but i guess since its a big ass turd. It had i think 40 more HP than or base 07 GP and yet it was even with us.

I say all the new challengers are crap and the new camaros and mustangs are getting better. especially the new 3.9 stangs, one of them beat my buddys stock impala SS.

Gotcha, he some 19s i think on the tires and they look stock. Still a slow terd, would have blown his doors off if he raced my neighbors new SI. my neighbor has his mind set on destroying a 07 Mustang GT and a 2010 Challenger R/T, he said he just hates those cars cause those cars his friends has and messed with him when he had a 07 cobalt ls.

Yeah the Challengers are just too dang big and heavy to be very quick.. But I agree that the new stangs and camaros are getting quick. I mean 300+ hp in the base V6's now? Dang.. haha
