Well after beating an Acura Integra I was in race mode. It was 10:30 at night, and I was heading home when I noticed headlights approaching quickly, guy rode my bumper for a second, then got into the left lane, when we came to a red light.
I looked over to see what was making the ricer noise and it was an early model 4-door neon, and this neon looked CRAPPY. Light turns green, I floor it and my tires screeched from hiting the cross-walk paint then I'm off. Just after I pulled away all I hear is turbo blow-off and he came screaming by, blew my doors OFF. Car was a sleeper at idle.
Little did I know the fuzz was watching the show too. I wasn't fast enough, got pulled over for "racing on the streets" and "speeding".

He killed me, and got away without a ticket. When I got pulled over initially I was dealing with one cop who asked me about the other guy, I said I didn't know him. After 10 minutes or so three more cops show up and started drilling me about the other car, thinking that I knew him. Last time I judge a book by its cover.

You might want to get an attorney. Those tickets can wreak havoc on your insurance. In Texas it is usually cheaper to get an attorney to have them reduced, keep them off your record, etc rather than watch your insurance skyrocket.

I actually got really lucky on that set of tickets. I didn't have anything on my record, and with racing on the streets being a jailable offense here in New Mexico the court made a Plea deal with me where I plead quilty, had to take a Drivers Improvement coarse (which was way cheaper than the tickets) and if I stayed under the radar 3 momths after I completed driving school they drop off.
This happened a little over a year ago. I recently got yet another set of racing on the streets, and speeding tickets, this time no driver school offered, only fines...$544 for the racing and court cost, and $146 for speeding. My "racing on the streets" days are over now.

No joke, the Intrigue doesn't see high revs after my last incident. The judge was even baffled when he looked at the ticket "Olds Intrigue, is this a fast car" I had to tell the truth in court, so I answered no.
Eventually I want an LS powered Camaro/Firebird Formula/CTS-V/G8. Love the LS line of motors for their easy modification and power.

I will add that the last race I had was on a road that normally doesn't see cops often, it's at the very edge of town. I was racing a v-6 Honda Accord and we were neck and neck up to 110mph when I backed off to finally let him pass, 2-seconds later there was a line of cops I'm guessig had just left a call, didn't get our speeds thank goodness, but they still knew what we were doing.
That night we both got busted because I met the Honda driver in court, he said he was shocked when he couldn't pass me and asked what kind of car it was.

I agree too, Come on its not like we are racing doing drifting, cutting off cars, and doing something dangerous like trying to be like the fast and the furious. Its just a race in a straight line from light to light, why make a car that hauls azz and we cant even do a little friendly race out on the street with NO TRAFFIC. I tell ya they should be giving tickets to the dumb azz drivers that drive drunk, ones who cant drive for sh**, and ones who speed cutting off people and could cause a accident.

Stroke of bad luck there bro, hope it works out and i would invest in a police radar thingy like those cobra scanners that can tell you when the cops are near. I want to get one but too much money.

^^^Exactly, everytime I've been stopped there is no traffic, this isn't happening in residentials, and IMHO I'm a better driver than most in my area.
Easy, expensive tickets is what I think it boils down to, our city is hurting. You'd think 3 speed vehicles and red light cams are helping the cash flow.
That radar idea, I should have done that after the first pull-over.

Ya when my bro races someone at nights its just straight from light to light and hardly any cars around.

Ya look em up they are pretty much legal i think and they sell em with the slogan "Anti Ticket" Radar. Ive seen lots of people online with em right there on the dash or hidden underneath the dash. Legal in most states i believe, the only way they will make it illegal is a loop hole. like around here in california they say you can have nothing on the window for the driver to "Obstruct your view" and would give you a ticket for that. But if its like under your dash then they cant do nothing but smile and wave.

That sucks on ur luck man.. And I would highly think about investing in a radar.. I absolutely love mine. They are a little pricey new but you get what u pay for with them and mine has easily saved me over $1000 you can also get a somewhat older one for pretty cheap

Lost to a neon and racing a stock Oldsmobile that probably runs basement 17's, and got a street racing ticket? That is one story I would have kept to myself.

I raced an Intrigue this past weekend. Cobalt SS was behind us watching, said it was so pathetic he couldn't tell who was winning until the Intrigue pulled in behind me.

    Two rocketships ... lol
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
