Well ran into a little friend today. Theres this local Black SRT8 that always seems to drive like hes top dog in the streets. I already ran him in my old 86 Firebird this past summer before parting it out and put near a bus length on him even from a dig... I guess my old 86 didnt look like a threat...
So today on my way home from dropping off my mother at work, I see him riding my bumper trying to pass me but I just stayed next to another beater Grand prix making him unable to pass me (FYI I was going 42ish in a 35..). He backs off after seeing I am not gonna let him pass and didnt notice him much after. Not really looking to pick a fight with him in my GTP. Well at the next light, he lines up next to me. Kept revving his **** just taunting me. I rolled down my windows trying to remind him that I was the owner of the old Firebird, He ignored me.
By this time, I said what the hell why not see how my GTP stacks up to this stock SRT8, I know this douche cant launch it right from my previous experience. Light turns green and I do a soft take off to 20mph, and sure enough he guns it and so did I. This was uphill on a bridge, but by 90mph I only put maybe a fender on him. Well luck came his way of a red light, by now I knew it was pointless to even run him from a stop. Sure enough he smashes the pedal and I just see his rear plant and hes gone.
I wonder if he still remembers my Firebird, He was driving around like a jackass that day as well. Passing everyone and cutting off people. At this time I bearly finished installing my Yank SS3600 Converter so figured it would be a good time to test it, from a 30 roll he got yanked pretty hard. I tried to give him the thumbs up at the light but he stayed back. He figured he has the advantage from a stop and lines up again but my 86 had full Founders/Spohn suspension with 255/50/16's ET streets, It wasnt even close. I stopped at 50mph and he kept going doing the drive by. Seen him a few times after this, totally avoided me.
So how fast are these Srt8s? Looks like maybe mid to low 13s in the 1/4. That awd sure looks fun.
