Re: *please read*
All of those accidents are unfortunate. Honestly sounds more like stupidity...
Know where and when to fu*k around. Oh yeah Cops in my town are real clows. They love giving "loud exaust" tickets (dumb excuse for a ticket). The cops in my town are more hazardous on the roads then these kids who just got their liscences with their fast cars mommy and daddy bought them. Cops everyday flying 90 mph on this 2 lane narrow highway just missing cars and people to give a fuc*kin "tint" ticket or 'loud exaust" ticket, then for some reason call 2 more cops to search their car for 2 hours then the bystandard just drives away with some "loud exaust" tickets. think thats just another way to make extra money for the town. Pretty fuc*ked up. The other day i was driving and a cop comming the opposite way comes flying like 85 around this turn swerves into MY lane and almost hits ME. I didnt think anything of it untill hes going 120 mph to catch me in a 40 mph zone with sidewalks where people jog and walk their dogs around :th_scratchhead:. He pulls me over and says "You swerved into my lane" im like "wtf? no i didnt". Im thinking wow what a real azzhole! Son of a Bit*ch cop blames me for what he did. Then he lets me go anywaz with out anything :th_scratchhead: I dont know i really dont understand these cops
oh and no offence to you at all JCG. But really JCG whats your take on "loud exaust" tickets?

Re: *please read*
I don't/won't give loud exhaust, tint or loud stereo tickets unless it's absolutley a must(like sitting in neighborhood at 2am). I figure I like my exhaust and stereo loud and my gtp has 5% all around so I would have to ticket myself :th_biggrin2: Some cops are just plain jerks is all. Before I became a cop I had a nissan ext truck with 5/6 drop and got pulled over because "Your license plate light is too bright" Now thats some BS. He just wanted to search my truck is all, which he never got to.

Re: *please read*
Agrees some cops are jerks, part of the reason is because my town is so quiet and there isnt any "real" crime. For some reason they keep hiring more and more, so now there is an excuse to pull anyone over for any little thing. Im happy to hear that your not a sorry excuse for a cop, being a fellow GP owner and all :th_thumbsup-wink:. Im just hoping i dont get stopped, over and over again by some chump cop for my exaust. Its like an $80 fine in my town :th_shakinghead2:.

Well back to the subject I agree with white on this one, I'd hate to lose the rest of my life and time over something so stupid, I mean I understand his friend died but I'm sure he'll have to live with that the rest of his life, one young man is already going to suffer, all they're doing is making it worse by ruining two young guys lives.
Cops love to pull over for tint and stereo around here, I don't understand it, but the other day a cop pulled me over and asked me where I got my tail lights from.

Re: *please read*
you know, the guy who went to pass is more to blame imo, he could have just hit the brakes and fall in behind the kid who sped up. no one forced him to push it till he lost control.

Re: *please read*
Street racing is a mistake every single time it happens... It's dangerous, and unpredictable... The first real mistake made is the assumption that the driving conditions stay constant... But cars pull out, light changes, and pavement quality goes down... When you're on a public road, and running all out like you own it, you're about to wind up a statistic... Every time you don't hurt someone, you brag all about it... And I get how sorry you could feel for this kid... I do...
I'm not saying I don't... He has a long long time to live with himself knowing all he had to do is lift his foot off the gas to save his friends life... I don't know what he deserves or doesn't... I do know people brag about "just getting probation" as if it were no punishment at all... I also know it takes 2 to race, and bad choices are the makers responsibility...
But remember... Even on closed circut courses professional drivers lose control due to everything from equipment failure to driver error... It's no wonder how people die from stunts like this... Think about the risk before the next time you go for a sweet story to tell your friends... You just might save a life...

Re: *please read*
That's sad to hear it I only mess around on the streets when its clear and nobody else is around so very seldom do I race.

Re: *please read*
I have never "street raced" I have ran people down the road and never really made it no more then 15 over...the whole Hayti,MO thing freaked me out! I will NEVER EVER go that fast on a street. I have been to "street races" A mom's fight for justice ....If you go to ANY local Arkansas forum you will hear stories about every place they listed....and I was there at ever place. Since then I have not been back to Little Rock on a friday-saturday night.

Re: *please read*
Yes, if two people are racing (illegal conduct) and something happens both can be held liable. Even if that something is to the other person racing.

Re: *please read*
wow, thats horrible.. two nights ago me an my buddy (both in GTPs) were sitting at a light andd when it turned green we smashed it just to leave some smoke for the ricers at the red light. we got about two blocks away and out of nowhere they come flying up on us and riding us hard. now ive had my share of tickets and i try to stay legal now so i backed off and slowed the pace down and they went to pass me (an accord and a prelude btw) now i live on these roads and i knew what was coming, they obviously didnt, because we came up on the 1st set of 2 back to back s turns, kid flew by at prolly 80-85 and by the time he hit the brakes to make the corner his car was over the curb and missing two rims.. if we wouldve been at the next 90 degree turn h wouldve been in someones bedroom.. i dont understand why you would push something so hard on a road you hardly know when your "opponent" hasnt hit the accelerator?

That's sad to hear. I just hope everyone stays safe out there and knows their limits.
