I went to the track yesterday with a buddy from school and his friend. My buddy has a 3L svt contour and his friend has a 2.5 svt contour. The 2.5 got on the track, staged and broke an axle. The very first run. So the videos you see are against my buddy in the 3L. This was my first time to a race track so everything is new to me. My best reaction time was .269 and my best run was 14.449 at 94.04 mph. My first run was a 17 but was spinning 1/4 way down the track. So I had to put a little heat in my hankooks, and after that I gripped very well for street tires. I only made 10 runs but that was because its my daily and I have no other source of transportation. The 3L made probably 30 runs, but he kept missing second gear as you will see in the videos. He had a linkage problem. Okay enough with the talking, onto the videos!

This is my second best run with a 14.481 at 94.44 mph. The 3L best time of the day was a 15.283 at 89.92 mph

Here is another one. The camera guy wasnt the best. This one is my 14.5 run. Even though the video doesnt show that.

And here is a really bad run but it looks cool because I got plenty of heat into the tires. Video taken from inside the 3L svt that missed second during the run.

I drove around the water box, it was right in front of that wall, the box was meant for rwd cars. After my little burnout and run down the track I took it to cool down and looked at my tires and seen how rapidly the tread was being worn down. After that I just did a quick little chirp before staging. I learned a lot about my car, and the track, as well as meeting some great people.

Ya burnouts kill street tires lol. But it sure is fun once in awhile.

Nice car, and nice runs. What do you think is keeping you in the mid 14's, just being "new" to the track? I assume a healthy running 3.5 car with supporting mods should be in the low 14's, maybe high 13's on a good day?

My powerlog developed a small leak around the flange to the crossover the night before. I wasn't able to fix it but I tried to goop it up a little. Do you think that might be holding me back that much? I thought my car should be running low 14's

I'd say low 14's if I was a betting man. 13's would be tough but you never know.

And that little chirp is actually hard on the axles/input shafts.

Seriously, just drive up, stall it...and give it hell.

If you want to do a burnout, get some sh1tto DR's
