Well today my friend and I went up to beaver springs drag strip. Turns out the test and tune was cancelled due to the weather. On the way home we did some highway pulls from 70. Background info on the svt, its a 3 liter swap out of a ford escape. A common upgrade when the stock 2.5 blows. He bought the car with the swap and just finished installing his built transmission and limited slip. We did 2 legit runs from 70. I let him get the jump just to give him a head start I pulled on him both times, when we shut down I was leading by 1 1/2 lengths. So I got the win but that svt is quick for being a contour lol. We go back to the track on the 14th so we will see who wins in the quarter.

Before I came to the 3.8 world i had an svt contour. My first car was a regular contour and I always wanted an svt. So I bought myself a project svt that needed body work. Fixed it and 3 months later I had a giant hole in the transmission case. I wasnt even driving it hard and yes the glass diff blew apart. The underside was so rusted from sitting before I got it and I put so much money into the car already that I decided to sell it for a loss. But it gave me some money to help buy the daytona 500 that I now have

A video I have seen hundreds of times, the first race at :25 is against a modded gtp. Kinda a crappy race but the svt makes the gtp look like its standing still.
