    Ever since i got my car i wanted to race a s/c 3800 series, just to see how bad i loose. There is a kid in my town who has a black Regal with a cone filter on it, other than that stock. Ive been instigating a race between him since i was stock. I was on my way home from gettin some scrumcious coffee when i hear a s/c revin at a stop light i see him in my rear veiw I gave him some high revs with my N/A power . So i rip it onto a 1 lane road hes right on me, then we catch another light. Hes still revin grining at me and im grinin back. We get to a 2 lane road and he pulls up next to me at about 40 i gave 3 honks and we took off, his s/c was whining so loud it started to hurt my ears lol, im still pulling just a tad till about 80 i see hes 1 car lenght behind me, when i hit the brakes he flys past, we catch another light we take off slowly this time he honks at about 30 we both smash the gas again i pull a little bit but hes right on my side mirror and we stay that way till 90 just almost even, me a little ahead, thats 2 for 2.

    S/C Regal > cone filter
    N/A GT> SLP catback, wizard, 180* T-stat... overkill pcm and DP in mail, wish i had them on for the race

    Sounds like he was in the "dead zone".

    If the car doesn't get a chance to catch 1st gear at 30-40MPH it's a dog. The car will go all the way to 95MPH in 2nd gear but starting at 30MPH that's a long haul. If he wasn't able to catch first gear in the dig he was stuck in 2nd all the way. With the different gears that would put your GT in a comparable class. If he's able to grab 1st gear at 30MPH he's prolly gonna pull away pretty fast until the 1-2 shift at 50MPH. At that point he's gotchya.

    i have to rematch him from a stop and see, after i get my overkill pcm and downpipe. He mentioned hes getting a cam in that case i would be finished...untill i get the turbo kit

    well i already knew are cars have a single cam, its just i always say cams by habbit without realizing...

    Not knocking your car 99prixgt but i think he still should of pulled away from you pretty easily even if he didn't get the down shift to 1st. He might have been getting a decent amount of KR. I've seen stock GTP's have up to 10* of KR. That's about a 20-25 HP loss right there. Maybe your car is just a freak though, who knows. Nice runs.

    I've dusted and s/c'd riv with the L67 by 2 cars so its all good just get a baby shot of N20 and its all done.
