Hell compared to my 96' Mustang GT I had this car felt twice as fast. I mean I know it makes what 60-70hp more than the 4.6L Non PI? but I know getting to 140mph in my Mustang took forevvverrr.
Anything past 100 mph in a GTP that is stock with exhaust mods that add nothing but noise = superslow.

in regards tonthe topmspeed issue there are factory errors and tire and rim size will throw off the speedo so it couldnread differnt just saying! good kill btw!

Got any pics of your engine bay? Maybe your car is more modded than you think it is. And yeah, it HAS to have a tune in order to go faster than 126mph. You might have a 3.4 pulley and an aftermarket PCM in there too.

my comp G went as fast as 136mph when it was bone stock with a intake, it took a bit but it did it according to the top speed thingy on my gps,

ik, i just keep reading people say that you have to have a tune to go that fast, the OP made the mistake of not listing what he was driving other then it was a gtp, it was only after i posted that i looked up his profile

Why?
Because making 60 odd WHP more than a stock car I still found it painfully slow getting from 60-100.

trust me. from what i read we have the same car. and i know the limits of mine VERY WELL. Even when i lightened out my car, and had no mufflers, the best i got out of my racekarr was 128.

lol Fail! Unless you think a cone filter is a major mod your wrong. I think what people are curious about on here is why would his car be able to pass 126 mph with the stock governor, Aslo these are by no means fast cars ill be the first to say that, But if you cant break 130 with a lighter then stock car and a lesser restrictive exhaust then there might be something wrong with your car

Do you really think the PCM cares if the car weighs 1000 lbs, or 3500? Vehicle speed is limited, I don't care how much you strip out of it. Shove a Saturn Rocket up it's ass, and it might break 130. BTW, your V rated tires are a complete waste of money. Shame on GM.

I was referring to jerZcavy4120's comment on your car being lighter, in fact jerZcavy4120 was the only one that acted as if less weight had any affect, my car is loaded with all the options from the factory and has nothing pulled off of it to make it lighter, so it weighs pretty much as much as it could from the factory, i have 3.23 gears and was still able to beat 130mph, so yes a stock gtp should be able break 130 if it wasn't for the limiter.
And who said anything about tires... where did that come from??

I have a '99, there cheif. hence the 128 limit of the car.
i have no top end limit. but thats all my car has got because of the different ratios in my trans...

tuned pcm. reset the top limiter to 199. so my dreams of going 300mph are crushed :(
