Was in town last night when a red late 90's f150 regular cab comes flying past me. The light turns red and we are first in line, him in one lane me in the other. I look over at him and see he is like mid 40's or so. He looked back at me. I didnt even think anything of racing just because he was older I just thought he had somewere to go or something. Light turns green and he takes off. I drove as normal not racing. I hear him chirp 2nd gear and thats when Im like its on. I didnt even hit the preformance shift button I just went. By this point he was a car and a half in front of me. I caught up to him and passed him like he was standing still. Not that my car is fast by any means. In fact its not running 100%. It sputters at high rpm. Scangauge is on its way to my house. Also replaced the high speed fuel pump relay and its still acting up. Anyway after I passed him he tried to change lanes and everything to catch up to me. At this point I slowed down because we were in downtown and thats not the smartest thing to do. Anyway a kill is a kill and its always fun to show someone that the gtp is no slouch

Yea man thats not smart at all... Why even waste your gas on a F-150 anyway? Lightning maybe, but otherwise its a waste of time.

Hello fellow daytona owner. Nice kill, but hookup the scangauge before the next run imo you might have some knock or ignition issues.

I did a first gear run. As soon as it was about to shift into 2nd I shut it down. Yes I shouldnt have even been doing it but I felt the need to do it for some reason. Which specifics should I be looking for with my scangauge?

What is the car doing that makes it feel like it's running bad?
Also is it the scangauge II? I actually just picked one up. I really like how it displays 4 things at once.

You can't scan for knock. Gauges don't do that. They scan for KR which is knock retard. So the jokes they were making actually were pretty stupid and made them look fairly ignorant. The only one worth laughing at was the boom one I chuckled cause it actually made sense.

Some things I suggest you to scan for:
KR-obviously 0 so no timing is being pulled
LTFT-long term fuel trims. You want them locked at 0
Ignition timing- you have an aftermarket PCM so I would be curious what they set it at.
O2's volts- this will you give you some idea if you are running rich or lean
RPM- because you want to know where exactly it's acting up
MAF- I doubt you are maxing the MAF but it's always good to check(11,000 htz is max)
Injector duty cycle- you probably aren't maxing them, but check it anyways.

That should get you started. From there I would suggest searching on MULTIPLE GP sites.

Alright. I ignore the jokes. Thank you for actually helping me out. I will look into the specifics and I will pm you my results. Its the aeroforce interceptor scan gauge. I know timing was set at 4 degrees above stock. I simply do not understand it, I have another thread open about my sputtering problems. Basically I had a bad injector, got that fixed, then the fuel pump resistor went out so I had that fixed and now its acting up. Only at like 5k rpm it sputters. It ran amazing before the injector went out so all these jokes about knock should not even affect it because it was running fine before hand. Its gotta be something with fuel but I have no idea

Who ever said you were idiots? I know you are talking about KR. What I said is I don't understand how it would suddenly happen when it hasn't before. All that happened was 2 defective parts were replaced. I didnt have this issue before. Thats all I am saying. Not trying to fight or anything. Thats why I am on this site, is to get help, to get opinions, to learn and to understand about this platform. I have only been a grand prix owner since october so I do not know anything about these cars. Thats why I ask for help. Thank you to the guys who are pointing me in the right direction. I appreciate it
