    Went out to Great Lakes Dragway in Union Grove, Wisconsin on Tuesday with two of my good buddies, to finally drag the Grand Prix down the 1320' since numerous mods such as: XP cam, headers, intercooler (100% leak free), Mototron 80#/hr's, E85, etc. have been added.

    This is my second trip to the drag strip, first time I went back in 2008 in my stock car with only a cone filter, and bald stock tires, my PB was 15.3 @ 94 MPH that day, obviously leaving tons to improve on.

    Here are the videos I promised:::
    04 Grand Prix vs 09 Cobalt SS/TC @ Great Lakes Dragway - YouTube

    2004 Grand Prix GTP CompG @ 10 psi ::: cam, headers, intercooler, 3.0 mps
    2009 Cobalt SS/TC @ 21 psi ::: intercooler, intake, full exhaust

    Run One:::
    GP 13.147 @ 108.34 MPH w/ 2.170 60'
    Cobalt 13.630 @ 112.90 MPH w/ 2.406 60'

    Run Two:::
    GP 13.140 @ 110.79 MPH w/ 2.240 60'
    Cobalt 13.445 @ 113.33 MPH w/ 2.337 60'

    Run Three:::
    GP 13.026 @ 111.06 MPH w/ 2.177 60'
    Cobalt 13.565 @ 112.57 MPH w/ 2.348 60'

    And my first 12 second pass!
    My Grand Prix gunning for it's first 12 second pass @ Great Lakes Dragway - YouTube
    It just so happens the first time I run a 12 second pass, I smoke a Honda with an interfooler on the front. HAH!

    Run One:::
    GP 13.193 @ 110.61 MPH w/ 2.263 60'

    Run Two:::
    GP 13.161 @ 110.56 MPH w/ 2.225 60'

    Run Three:::
    GP 13.087 @ 110.40 MPH w/ 1.948 60'

    Run Fourth and Final:::
    GP 12.989 @ 110.01 MPH w/ 2.116 60'
    Honda 16.417 @ 83.24 MPH w/ 2.374 60'

    Nice runs man!

    Those TC Cobalt's really tend to backhalf...just a few simple mods really wake those cars up.

    Needs big fat K&N filter, to replace junk Spectre.
    Needs machined GenV snout nose drive.
    Needs 2.6" pulley / 12-13 psi +
    Needs WBS anti belt slip tensioner kit.
    Needs slicks.
    These runs were done with 25* ignition advance at 11.4 AF-R, on a 3.0" pulley seeing 9-10 psi.

    I talked to and shook hands with the Cobalt driver after the racing was over for the night.
    Good guy, he said he was having trouble launching, was supposed to be at 24 psi, and was running around my times at Byron Dragway.
    hopefully, this means I can get into the mid/high 12's a little easier at Byron.

    Honestly I always have best luck running against stupid fast cars AND lining up behind someone that had a fat tire on the back...that way you just "root" the tracks he laid down...I followed a 7 second Fox all night on 225/60/16 junky Bridgestones and was pulling sub 1.9x 60's all night.

    What was the 60 foot on your 12's run? I see that this run: GP 13.087 @ 110.40 MPH w/ 1.948 60'...seemed pretty damn good tho regardless.

    Good runs maino.

    This is true. If you notice, I'm always on the left side in the videos I posted. They sprayed some VHT down on that side for the bikes.

    Try 12.5afr and a hair bit less timing next time.

    The tune loaded on the car when we arrived was set to 12.5 AF-R and 20* ignition advance. After I hit 13.1, my buddy added fuel and I added timing. First run after the re-flash was the 12.989 pass.
    I'd say it needs a smaller pulley and less timing next time.

    The size of it. Once I drop below my 3.0" pulley, that small air filter will most likely be the cause of flow restriction. I'm set on a specific K&N air filter to buy according to measurements taken of space in that general area. It should sit nice, large, and flush.

    You should get the BIG Spectre filter then. I got one from the local Orielly's, it was like 40-50 bux (over a year ago, cant remember specifically), dry filter, cleans up well... huge

    Demensions are like 11x8x5 inches .... much like the size of my... o look a picture

    Not the best picture, but half of it is hidden. Just 2 pennies... get the K&N if you like, just some food for thought

    The filter I've eyed out is not a cone style, but more like a wide rectangular box size itself that will occupy that whole entire fender area, spacing from the MAF out in every direction, not just forward.
    It is on K&N's website for ~$40 dollars.

    I dunno, I still wouldn't run that K&N. That big spectre is a great value, and it's massive.
