one of my brothers buddys has a 2000 gt from 30 i had pulled until like we got to around 75 then he pulled on me.

next weekent we went from like 60 to 100ish and pulled on me. my mistake was i kept it in 3rd instead of putting it in drive.

later we went againg from 20 to 70 and he pulled on me again

now when i say pull its not like blowing it out of the water. slowly pulling on me he was 1/2 car each time we stopped.

my question is is could it be because my car is older and more worin out or is it the fact that the 2000gt has 200hp and the 97 has 195??

perhaps one has more compression that the other...

Or more importantly, the transmission is in better shape.

Too many factors to take into account to really give you a solid reason as to why.

    While I agree on the '97 transmission's sucking wang...there is only a 14lb. difference in the coupes/sedans.

    APPARENTLY.

our cars are 3500 lbs anyways.... with a 3.8.

only ones at 3493 are 3.1's.... with not a single option.

    The '97 GTP is fine...

    The '97 SE/GT Transmission aren't 4T65E's...they are 4T60E's...that are vacuum powered. And can't handle an N/A 3800's power...let alone one with mods.
