the other day me and my gf were driving back from her gmas and her brother was behind me with a i think a 02 7.3 powerstroke. and i was in front of him cruise set at 63 and i knew he wanted to try to pass me. (he has had many other trucks that were modded a lot with headers, injectors, chip, exhaust, ext. that have bet me before but that was when i had the 2000 gp gt). anyways i see him speeding up so i punch it. he only got to about my rear passenger door and never gained any ground on me. i wasted him, it was my first win against him lol.

You sure about that, even with minor things done they can be a beast? With mods you'd get smoked........

What so interesting is the competition between diesels.

Take a look at Ford Diesel Engine Specs - Specifications on Power Stroke Engines - HP Torque

Notice how many times in the last dozen years the powerjoke has been up-powered.

Compared to, say, the 3800 N/A which had 200 HP for almost as long as I remember.

So the new ones have huge power, but old ones did not!

Imagine you could still make a chit-ton of power with an old one too, though. For the most part it boils down to displacement, which they all had.

My buddy had a chipped(6 gun), full exhaust/intake, bigger turbo random bolt on crap and propane injection... I was passin sumone at 50 and the thing planted me in my seat. If you do them right you can go far with them with not alota cash really. Stock cant even leave a decent cloud of black smoke.
