well i went to the local track last night. First off i would like to say is that i seen 2 other gtp's there and they have no idea how to build em. one kid had an 04 comp g with a 3.4 pulley headers intake and catback and its tuned for his old set up. and the other one was a 98 2 door. His intake was made of pvc pipe, he had a 3.4 pulley and a cam. no tune and stock manifolds..... I think it was the Knock club or something. the 98 was running 14.9 and the comp g was runnin 14.4.

Ok i had a good night. my first time running with my 3.6 set up. i ran a 14.15 with no knock. i ran 5 times and lost once to a 300zx that has a skyline motor that runs 10's lol. but i killed 2 trucks ( stupid) and i killed a vtec acura and a 80's camaro with a 350. so i had a great time. Just i wonder if them other 2 guys look up things about their cars before they do it.

my mods: 3.6 mps, autolite 104's, 180* t stat, power log, ceramic coated crossover pipe, ported rear manifold, K&N FIPK intake, 3" down pipe with high flow cat, and custom tune. its an 05 gtp with 94,000 miles

lots of guys are ill informed about modding these cars. they think you can put more boost in the motor from the get go and itll work out fine. that doesnt really hold true for this platform..

I saw a GTP for sale here in the Mexican adds. It said it had a 2.8 pulley and ported blower. I'm assuming that's all the mods they had in it ha!

Put some headers on that thing, work on launching a little better and I bet you could run a 13.8.

Gut it. And toss in a gallon of race gas if your knocking...and maybe put on a 3.5" for just one run...it might give it that extra edge.

Cheap doesn't always equal safe. Get a set of speeddaddy's on ebay, they work really well, revised to fit better then the previous ones and are only $205 shipped. I recomend doing it right or not at all, you could really end up breaking something which is never a good idea unless its not a daily driver.

    Or get rockers.

    Or get an intramacooler.

Both would be better mods than headers.

rockers is the cheapest mod that will net you anything.

TB spacers do nothing unless you wanted to start spraying meth or N2O

He already has a good setup where the better flow of air out of the engine will make his car run much better, cut down on KR and allow more boost before you ever even get to something more like rockers or an intercooler. The cheapest way without making your car lighter (which is more of a hassle then I would think it's worth) would be to get headers. Everything you need for rockers will cost you at minimum 350 (with a used set of rockers), intercoolers are even more expensive then that. Headers are basic, bolt-on, and will give you a good *umph* to break that 13 barrier. Yes the other mods cut down on kr, but headers are the least amount of hassle and bang for your buck.

no an intercooler is the best bang for your buck...

    That or a cam.

But the OP's mods so far have been "easily reversible".

    Headers are not so much....

If you consider 1000 dollars a good way to just give your car a little 'umph', sure it'll do a lot more then that but honestly, he doesn't want to spend a lot of money like he said. And headers are as irreversible as an intercooler. Just sticking with what the OP said, "cheap" way to get it into 13's..

I think we shall let the OP decide since we're arguing over weather or not the OP would want to go with headers instead of the PLOG + DP setup.

Kinda pointless, but i totally agree with you. SD's would be the best mod right now. the OP could have them on his car for nothing if he sold his PLOG and DP.
