Ahhh what a race and pretty sad lol.On my way home from work today I switch lanes and end up next to a blacked out 97ish mustang gt.I speed up a little to get in front of him in his lane and next thing I see is him ridin close behind me.So I gun it real quick but my turn home is coming up fast, and he turns down the same block as me.I floor it as soon as i turn and so does he,but i pretty much have a headstart.Im nailing the gas to the floor and slowly he pulls closer and closer til I get to 80mph and were neck and neck.Get to 100 and he's maybe half a car or less ahead. Then he slows down cuz his turn is coming up.But damn I thought at least I would give him a better run, then again he's a v8 and im a v6.His mods idk,my mods drop in K&N with modded airbox, magnaflow cat and thats all. This comes on the heels of my modding process, but soon ill make a statement haha.(dude with turbo eclipse a few houses down)

Anytime a non pi 2v mustang wins; a baby otter somewhere dies. Sad I know but it does happen occasionally.

Does no one on here have any of the 95ish wide body grand prix's? I drove my sisters a long time ago for about 3 months and it was nice and had decent pep.........are they just a red headed step child on here or somethin?
sorry I know this has nothing to do with this post but is a question none the less and didnt want to start a thread for it.

I think he was a little pissed not being able to lay a smackdown on me lol. It was a good race though, had my adrenaline pumpin.and lmao at beastly.quick question, stock for stock could a gtp hang with or beat a 97 Gt?I know the power output is close(torque wise).Reason why i ask is because I might top swap eventually

If you top swap your car...that thing would probably need Cams, Headers, Intake/Exhaust, gear, tune...to run with you again...all you'd need minus the top swap are headers...and a custom tune.

If a npi 2v owner upgrades the cams you can bet on a new set of heads as well, at the very least expect pi heads from the 99-04 gt's. Depending on the cams/gears/tune, it might not be a great idea to pick a fight with one in a GP w/a top swap. Assuming stock or close to stock boost from the eaton.

Nice kill, and yes a GTP can definitely take down a stockish 97 mustang GT.

haha thanks guys.I really wanna top swap sometime within the next 3-5 months.I know its very involved but can anyone tell me about how long it would take to top swap?and what tools are needed? That way it gives me a good idea as to what to expect

all you need is basic hand tools. You might want to think about a tranny upgrade real soon, the 4t60e won't be able to handle a s/c let alone stock power from a gt. You will be faster, i went from trapping 88 to 98. You WILL need a tuner and learn how to tune.

I just helped do some cams on a 2V 98 GT...no head swap at all, its still a dog. I've seen those cars run...they ain't all that great unless you've got deeper pockets. You can make a Top Swapped car tons faster for the money IMO.

I still own a 1996 Mustang GT, using these cars as a bench mark for beating up on V8’s is really setting the bar low. They are fun to drive ,and you got allot love with the drive line (8.8 ftw) But in stock trim even lightly modded…not worth writing home about..but hey they give Ricers a chance to say “I just wasted a Mustang GT with my GS-R! and I only have half the cylinders”

I just top swapped mine 2 weeks ago, its a lot of work and it takes a lot of time. A lot of people go with zzp's ssm90 build because its easier and faster, but a top swap is more power. If you do it you will love it. boost is a great friend to have

Yea no doubt about it a top swap would be the biggest project i would do,im still debating between the ssm90 or a hard part top swap.I do want something easy and quick but ssm90 is about $300 more than a normal swap

Top swap isnt more power then the zzp m90 SS. If anything the ZZP Kit makes more power because it comes with a ported blower and lim. Where do you get this info from? lol
