What kind of kills can you get with a bone stock GT coupe? I've been thinking up some mods lately without doing the top swap like the flipping the dogbone deal and some exhaust mods.

with just simple mods, how much rice can i eat?

No way you beat a Turbo Talon with a GT. Even the 1990 cranked out a 15.0 and the GT's are high 15 to mid 14 second cars. The 94 Talon cranked outta 14.5 1/4 stock. I'm not buying it.

As for what cars you should go pick on maybe a Geo Metro,Cavalier, or a v6 Mustang.

BTW flipping the dog bones and doing exhaust work (i.e. cat-back exhaust system's) on a GT will not net you any gains performance wise. Sorry but it's a waste of time. Plus our stock exhaust doesn't have any restrictions from the cat-back until over 300hp. Now if you go for a down-pipe or a ZZP P-log you will gain some hp.

As for flipping the dog bones, all it will do is help you get more power to the pavement by you engine not moving every time you put your foot to the floor. ( You will not gain any HP from this! )

As for eating rice, you probably won't eat any if they have done anything to their car. If you do it will be due to driver error.

Good luck with you endeavors and be safe if you are going to hunt people down to street race.

I put one of your statements in italics, which you then went on to contridict yourself with the bolded sentance. Pretty sure "getting more power to the pavement"is a performance gain. stop being stupid
oh and ps, um a powerlog, 3 inch downpipe and u bend delete are all exhaust work and last time I checked, add horsepower.

Buy a GTP if you want to go faster...and still be slow as far as "fast cars" are concerned.

there's a difference between getting more power to the pavement and adding power. engine doesn't make any more power, but it's used more efficiently when you flip dog bones. he has poor word choice, but i see what he was saying

Learn to spell douche! Go take your stock GT to the track and race it without flipped dog-bones then flip them and see if you run any faster.

    YOU WON'T!

Did I Contradict myself there Jr. ?

Plus our stock exhaust doesn't have any restrictions from the cat-back until over 300hp.
Also i said the from the Cat-back not the manifolds or down-pipe. Learn to read before you type.

damn. maybe im a n/a loser too but the only n/a 4cylinder car that's given my car a run was a gsr and it was from a roll with him starting in 1st at 25. we only ran to 60 and he was just bearly ahead of me. another second or 2 and i would have had him. the l36 shines best in the 45+ range. 2nd gear is money.

honestly, i don't even attempt to race my GT. I have beat a GAGT bad, and a 4 banger hatchback jetta bad. I have had every GT mod including rockers, hvtb, hv3, wizair, fuel rewire, custom dhp tune, 180 stat, wires, plugs, downpipe, exhaust, etc, and still got my a** handed to me racing a bone stock GTP.

if you are going to do anything, just drop $600 and do a topswap. I wish I had gone through with mine when i had all the parts. That is really the best thing to do. You will eat mildly modded/stock gtps no problem. this is why i demodded my car, cuz I had all the GT mods with no extreme gains. With all the money i spent on GT mods and then add another $1000 i could have put a turbo on it and really made some power

Ok maybe it wasnt turbo, but to be honest im not really sure. It had wicked loud exhaust so i wasnt sure if i heard a turbo or not. My friend told me it was so thats why i said it. Not trying to make up stuff. He could also be a bad driver, you never know. I just know he cut me off before hand and almost hit me twice while we were racing.

True. Just stating the facts man. You can pounce on a few cars but not as many as the gtp's.
