I dunno, what is it?
Many moons ago when I first learned of the name "Lingenfelter," it was explained to me like this - and I quote "Lingenfelter is to Chevrolet what Jesus Christ is to Christianity"
The man was an absolute genius in GM performance.
Nice kill story! Anytime I hear of a ford getting its butt wiped, it brings me joy. That's especially true when it comes to the mustang guys. They think they're all that because they have a horse on their car. "oh, I'm sorry - did my little v-6 just eat your v-8?"
Good Kill. When my GTP was stock, I couldn't touch my brother's 07 stang. It was not even close. Those things are damn fast. Looks like he had some serious driver and/or traction issues. Good kill anyways tho ( Just don't go trying to race one on dry pavement) at least until you get modded up a little.
not much of a saying... and just because siblings come from the same parents, doesnt mean they're equal. I have always hated Chevrolet, I admit, but not GM as the whole umbrella company. I also find much higher quality in Pontiac than chevy, though my experience with late-model cars is rather limited, i have been none too impressed with the majority of Chevrolet's offerings, and though it is personal taste more than anything, chose a 2000 Saturn over a... I dont recall the year, but a Cobalt. Such cheapness Ive never sat in before.uhhh GM makes Chevys... made Pontiacs until a few months ago.
The 2010 Camaro, too, is just hideous. Dodge butchered the muscle cars enough with the New Challenger (beastly, yes, but nasty ugly) :/
Slightly off topic, i think its funny and unfortunate that i have yet to see a young driver behind the wheel of a 2010 Camaro. Just today, saw another old guy inside an SS. Sad. Sure would be nice if the powerful cars were more accessible by the younger folks, but then there wouldn't be much of a used car market, I suppose.
My response is also off topic, but I just wanted to add that the "old people" thing could be looked at two ways. I think it's pretty neat that the older people don't give up their need for speed just because of age. When I asked my grandpa (77 years of age) to let me know when he got ready to sell his snowmobile, his response was that he had already sold it back in November because he bought one "a little bit faster." I'm thankful to have a grandpa nearly 80 years old that is still as active as he was when he was 40.
I races my friends 09 v6 mustang and it beat my gtp? It has a 5 speed in it and we were close the whole time but higher speeds it started to pull on my car. Got up past 115 and still...pulled..those 4.0s aren't too bad. And they def can break the tires loose especially with a 5 speed. Even though its a v6 I love it when a rwd car just breaks em loose and you see the rear end of the car just sliding across the pavement ha
so lets get this straight ..... you were street racing in the rain? Hmmmm.... atleast you didn't die.....not smart but it's your car and life
Yes, lets get this straight. In the rain... not quite. Lets review, maybe you misread the original thread.
Yea - divided highway, no cars along side or ahead with no entrances to the highway - I agree that in the damp/wet conditions were not ideal, but this was hardly a tight city street during a downpour, and these weren't highpowered cars that are going to struggle with wet traction beyond 40mph. My wife was with me in the car, if there was a concern for safety, you can bet I would have observed any additional needed caution. I kept an eye on the rwd car in case he kicked things out a bit - we had lots of room. I guess everybody has different levels of caution they need to observe, I was confident that this was a situation with enough control and options where the risk factors didn't outway the enjoyment of taking some Ford pride.
For what its worth, I have also observed, not with this car, but from playing around with newer v6 'Stangs in other situations that the M5 cars are always much quicker than their automatic counterparts, when you have lower amounts horsepower every percent of drivetrain loss becomes more and more obvious. And before the 5spd auto's the M5 cars clearly had an advantage with better gear ratios.
So lets get this straight, you were street racing in the wet????? It's your life and car I guess. I once had some joker in a Subaru try to pull this sort of BS on me. This is why in a real race (track) they stop everything and dry the track. But like I said, it's your life.
i guess its all preference theres nothing wrong with having some fun. and the link worked for me just fine also. Having fun is normal around here. Good Kill on the Stang though! I am a genuine ford hater. Gm, Subi, and Mazda RX7 are my favorites.

Lemans, rally, auto-x - all will run in the rain. Again, safety is a situation by situation basis - there wasn't a safety issue. Wet does not equal an instant loss of control. If my life were in jeporday I would have taken note - that simply wasn't the case. Maybe you arn't capable of handling the car in the wet - that doesn't mean we all arn't.
