Well we have a huge car cruise at the end of the month where a live. I never miss one so It was getting late and this green gtp I had seen earlier showed up beside me then motions me to follow him So we pulled in to a parking lot, he wanted to see what I had done to my car so I told him my few mods, he said his was bone stock and he wanted to race to compare the difference, so we kicked it from 20-70ish first and I pulled him hard got atleast a car and a half or a little more. Then we kicked it again from 40-70ish I pulled about a car. Then from 60-90 I only pulled him about half a car. I guess PCM's help lol Next week me and my buddy has got a race lined up, me vs his 87 firebird with a stock 305, Ill be sure to get a vid of this one.

Good kill, DHP PCM is the best mail-order PCM available. And that Fireturd race, you should rape him, is it a 305 TPI or TBI? Either way, you should walk him eight ways to sunday. 305's BLOW!!!!

even 350's in the 80's were a fail. Look at the 3800 in the 80's. Also a fail.

305's with heads, cam, intake, carb and headers can put out well over 300 horse. But the same goes for any SBC, if you put a new top end on it, it'll push more horses than cubic inches it displaces.

That car is intercooled and has boost. Did any of the small blocks have those?

Look at our cars and what an intercooler and a few exhaust mods will do for it. Same thing applies for the older version.

Two ways to get power, they just happened to actually use one at a time when everyone was afraid to make power.

Yea but you said the old 3800 was fail...I was going just by what you said and in general...the 3800 isn't really a bad design considering it has been around since the 60's

To be fair, great engine considering with boost it can do amazing things. Without boost its not that powerful. If it was made entirely of aluminum and had a nice roller valve system it'd be much more comparable to todays modern V6's.

LOL I did, I bought it back a month ago. He only put like 3,000, enough for a oil change. I seen it on craigslist and called him up. After I sold it I regretted it, now I have a second chance. The guy said he never drove it decided he wanted to sell it.

I have a 01 GTP and a 91 camaro with the 305, sad thing is the camaro is much more intimadating but the GTP would take it by atleast 4-5 car lengths. 350 crate motor swap is in it's future, 305=slow

Sounds like a stock cam... You should be ashamed...

In stock form your 305 put out 170 HP so the sales sheet claimed and the Z28 305 in one trim put out 230 HP. Apparently some of these were a tad underrated but regardless, not very much really.

Either 350 or 383 stroker, Both work well.
