I was driving home from playing paintball today and it is almost all interstate driving for 30 minutes. Anyway, being a Saturday, there was a home football game for the Iowa Hawkeyes, and I was getting stuck in the traffic heading towards Des Moines, Iowa. Anyway, it seemed like every stupid person that was driving from the game was sitting in the left lane going about 65 in a 70 MPH zone. How annoying. I was plugging away passing people via the right lane at a couple cars at a time. Then, I get a break and keep passing people while I am in the left lane. I was going XXMPH, not very fast, but about as fast as I can go without running the risk of getting pegged by a cop with nothing better to do.

Anyway, I start catching up to a semi that is in the right lane (I am still in the left) and there is a new(er) Mustang GT in the right lane that decides that he is going to pull right in front of me and go 10MPH slower than me, well under the speed limit, and a lot slower than most traffic goes on this road. Anyway, we get past the semi, and does the guy get back into the right lane??? Of course not. He stays in the left lane. So I start to accelerate and go to pass in the right hand lane when he stomps on the gas. I start pulling away (I had a little jump on speeding up) and then caught up to a car in the right lane preventing me from getting around him. I am going "pretty fast" at this point. I hit the breaks and am forced to drop back behind him. As soon as I do, the guy drops down to his "under the speed limit, driving like grandma speed" again.

The next break comes in the traffic and he starts to speed up. I step on it and jump into the right lane again. We are both going pretty fast but I am pulling away from him. Not real fast, but still spreading the distance, and I am forced back into the left lane in front of him due to traffic in the right lane. So then the guy is ticked off. I guess he was mad that his new Mustang GT got beat by a 2000 GTP with just a FWI, PLOG, and downpipe for the most part. Oh, and he must have been mad because his stupid jerk-like driving didn't impress his wife/girlfriend in the passenger seat.

I didn't know that I would be able to beat a Mustang GT rolling down the interstate.

2000 GTP was killed by 16 year old - Nov 20, 2010 - It only had 74,000 miles, a ZZP 3" Catted Downpipe, ZZP SS PLOG, FWI, 180* T-Stat, Flipped Dog Bones, GMPP Sway Bars, G2 painted Rotors and Calipers, HUMount, and was Dexcool free!
