Ok, this is not really a kill story but I figured I would stick it in here. SO I went to the track last night for Test n Tyne night. Got 4 runs in... First run was a 16 flat... Terrible. I just had new tires put on the front and they inflated them to 40psi, so... I spun 1st, 2nd and half of 3rd... FAIL! Second run i droped the tire pressure to 20psi. Ran a 15.2. Better. LoL 3rd run, I dropped the pressure to 18psi, and launched at 1500rpm. No slip, ran a 15flat. For my last run, I lowered the presure to 15psi, took out my spare tire and my gallon of turners ice tea LoL Launched at 2k, no slip, ran a 14.8 at 94.1mph. I was quite happy. I know she is not as fast as some of the cars here, but she did good enough for me. Now, the real mods can begin...

That sounds right on the money for a GTP with your mods. Good runs man!

Better have a never ending wallet with a Whipple build

Good job on the times. I ran a 14.7 with those same mods and a colder T-Stat/Catback...which does absolutely nothing LOL

how did you spin through second gear on a basically stock car, especially at the track. i call BS. did you just bury the pedal in the floor or something? that is not how to launch the car.

You spun first, second and half of third? lol No you didn't but it sure adds to the story. 14.8 is good with a stck GTP, good run!

Turners ice tea is the shiznit.
You should have dumped it in your gas tank that would be worth at least 20hp.

took my car to track for first time 2 weeks ago, with tc off spun 1st and 2nd and some 3rd to a 15.8, 3 different runs then put the tc on and ran 14.5 at 92. this seems slow for my mods but no traction

Stock GTPs can definately spin through first and second. I can spin off a 15mph roll at only 3/4 throttle, and my 04' is bone stock.

you should be faster... keep the tc off and practice launching the car without spinning... tc keeps you from spinning but kills spark for another few seconds so your car isnt running to its potential...

and reguarding the gears in the comp g... if i hold the break up to about 2k and just mash on it i can spin through all of first and second but thats definitely not how i would launching it at the track
