Yeah, I miss the Imp's 33MPG at 75MPH. At 65MPH I'm lucky to get 26MPG out of the STI. But, that's the cost of a performance car with a higher FDR. I didn't buy it for it's fuel economy. In fact I get better economy than the sticker claimed.
thats not to bad. and yea im sure all the other benifits of the car make up for the lack of fuel milage :)
will the tune help highway milage any or is the turbo always gonna spool at 3k?? wastegate wont act as a bypass till you get into the throttle hard?? im not a turbo guy..
Nah, it's going to spool. Some tunes can help mileage, but I don't feel like swapping tunes several days a week depending on if I want mileage. If you buy the car for mileage you bought the wrong car and are focused on the wrong aspects.
ahh i see.
so when we gonna get some cool vids ???
Probably when I get into the auto-x league. I do have some fun on rainy days in deserted parking lots though. :D
i bet. got good at bangin gears yet??
All smooth. I don't shock the driveline, even though I'm told it can take it anyway. I can shift pretty quick doing it smooth, though. Just have to know your clutch and your ratios. ;)
hey thats the best way. its so anying riding with someone and they jerk all the gears.
Raced my buddy again last night from a dig this time....
Sat at a light and we were off once it hit green. Both of us spun and somehow I had a half car/fender on him till about 40 I want to say. After that he pulled on me till about 100 when we shut down, overall I he only had a car maybe car and a half on me. Not bad considering he's also tuned and was from a dig.
you could take him all the way to 100 with a 3.4 setup and a good launch.
If you were ahead of him after a standing start, he can't drive. Period.
ive heard awd aint easy to lauch.
He said he didn't launch that hard, he's already blown up one drivetrain and doesn't want to do it again. But whatever the reason he didn't do it right.
If he has a WRX, that's a somewhat legit answer. If he's already blown a tranny he should've gone to the 6MT from the STI. Nearly indestructible.
It's easier. Until you get to stupid power levels or you're on wet ground, you can launch without worrying about wheel spin. Just rev it up and let the clutch dig in (don't just pop it) and you go. Even on surfaces with a little less traction or when you have ridiculous power, it's still easier to launch than just powering two wheels.
I would have went with a JDM 5spd
i see alot of awd's bog them off the line, guess they just try and pop them
