I played around with a new Solstice GXP on a "closed course" from a roll and it surprised me. I was wondering if any GP GXP guys have raced either a Sky Redline or a Soltice GXP. I was right behind the guy going about 55mph in second and he took off and I gunned it, I reeled him in a little bit and then hit 3rd gear and we pretty much stayed the same distance. I thought they should be a bit quicker than a stock GP GXP but either way it was a fun run. Anyone else have any runs against a Solstice GXP?

Yep. They have been moding those cars for a while too... Aftermarket Turbo 2.4s or LS2/LS7 Sky/Solstices are out there too so be warned. I think they had offered a Supercharged LS7 option in aftermarket but it was pretty stupid-fast and not sure if you would run across one on the street. Now they just do a Turboed LS2.

Just remember...as a general rule...if there is only one exhaust pipe on the passenger side it's a 2.4...if there are two...it's the Turbo 2.0.

(Had a 2007 Sky 2.4 for about a year right when they first came out...their handling is AMAZING!)

haha yeah i hear ya my buddies dad got one and we took it for a spin.. they are fast little things! i think they should have made special edition ones of this and the g8 when pontiac shuts down kinda like they did with the last 2 montes that came off the line... instead its gonna be a fleet g6...

i kind of regret not getting the soltice gxp the only difference between that and my cobalt is RWD but yea the turbo is solid i love it i miss my s/c sometimes but i hear my turbo wind up now and it makes me feel a little better. The Ecotec is a pretty solid engine for a 4 banger
