was cruising onto the on ramp and noticed a white 540i bimmer driving past on the freeway tailgating motorists. eventually i caught up to the bimmer after a a bit when he was stuck behind an SUV. i followed him at a decent and respectable car length and waited if he was gonna gun it once the SUV signaled to the left/slow lane. indeed the SUV turned to the slow lane and i applied lightly the throttle and tapped the brakes to unlock the tcc and the RPMs rose to ~3000RPMs waiting for the bimmer to go off since there was a nice open stretch on the highway.
the bimmer started pulling away while i was at a car legnth behind him and i also increased the throttle to match his and at this point we were going ~80-85mph then i noticed him switching to the right lane and the distance between us started to increase. i was already applying only ~70-75% since thats how i always drive the car, never 100% throttle. as he was pulling away at like 1.5 car lengths i increased throttle to get lined up with him and he deceided to gun it from there so it was on. at this point i indeed floored the car and started pulling on him. not crazy-like but to compare how i was pulling it was like as if he was going 65mph and i was going 75mph, but this was from a 95mph roll. so while i was pulling away he was prolly about a car behind and i glanced at the speedo and noticed it was at 130mph so i let off the throttle and cruised sicne we were already approaching upcoming traffic. the 540i switched lanes and followed me at a car length behind.
upon approaching traffic i signaled to the right lane and waiting for the driver to pass me and see his age. turns out to be a 50 yr-old with long stringy white and gray hair and we both returned a thumbs up for the short race.
slightly off topic, but i seem to get KR if i apply more than 80% throttle. should i richen that area up a bit? i belive that would be in the 9700+ in the MAFF tables. but i also have my AFC to richen it up.
cliff notes-ran a bmw 540i from a 90mph roll and ended up 1 car length ahead of him to 130mph
