So I was just cruzing down 494 going west this evening and a white GXP passed me. I didn't think nothing of it at first, but I decided lets see how fast these GXP really are. I have heard alot of people say, a modded GT will take a GXP in most cases, but other that said no that the GXP will win against a GT in the long run.

Well I have only the mods in my sig, and I pulled up next to the GXP we were both running 65-70 and we both hit it and I walked his GXP with no problem at all. By the time I hit 120 I was still a car and 1/2 ahead of him. We did it twice and I spanked him again with no problem at all.

    Anyone care to comment?

Not that it makes my car faster and since I haven't updated my pics, I have my 18" Chrome KV5's on wrapped in GY Eagle F1 245/45/18

Are the 2007 SC GT exhaust manifolds as restrictive as the the previous years? Can I benifet by doing a HF cat and DP. In other words what am I going to really gain and and how much by going with headers.

Also what other mods would be a good choice that would not include tearing into the engine (ie cam)

My friend has a stock gxp and he spanked a modded colbalt ss. Like he walked on it bout 3 cars from a dig then about 4 from a 60 roll. I allways thought the gxps were fast! But N/a Grand prix spanked a stock ss. Sweet kill man

ask your dealer about voiding the warrenty. if headers void it im sure the pulley and tune would also.

in a performance aspect i would go for some headers. cant really help you with the warrenty. and yes the exhaust manifolds are still very restrictive.

I have a mps Pully so I can put back on a 3.8 and I still have my factory PCM which I can install as well in a matter of a few mins.

But yes you are correct I will have to ask my dealer if I can add headers, hell they flow better than the crap stocks so a person is only making the car breath better any how. I don't see how headers could cause issues over stock any how.

    go figure .

So besides headers what other things can I do.

rockers. its an easy bolt on. only hard part is taking the altenator/water pump off and the coil brackets to remove the valve covers. then i would sugest a meth kit.

if you wanna be able to put it back to stock relitively easy then you could go with a plog and downpipe. headers are a little harder to change out.

Rockers are a great mod because they don't go pulling off the valve covers when they tend to work on it for the most part

So if I was going to go with headers which ones do you recomend. Same question if I go with a DP and PL.

What gain differences between headers and PL with DP

IMO headers will take you way farther in the modding stage...you won't have to worry about your exhaust anymore as it will be totally opened up. Headers will also make more top end power vs. the PLOG/DP which make more low end.

Headers...I say Pacesetter's for the price and size but no one seems to like them but me...I had mine all welded and never had any issues with leaks after it was all done. You can find the thread "Leak-Free Pacesetter's" in the How To Section.

once you have those headers, you can possibly be ready for a smaller pulley
