Me and my friend were planning this race all week long, my 1997 grand prix gtp (with only a cai) vs his dad's 2002 v-8 thunderbird. I thought i was going to loose the entire week leading up to the race, but i still knew it would be somewhat close. So finnaly we race, i pull ahead for the first couple gears, but then i see him start to catch up. But then he couldnt catch up anymore and we are drivig down the highway neck and neck passing 100mph and right toward the end of the race, my gtp pulled ahead by a couple of feet to win it. He was about as pissed as i was excited, i still give him **** to this day. It was my first, but not my last kill

still not making sense here. there were no "super coupes" aka the supercharged V6's from the 90's in 2002. the 3.9 V8 is not blown, just a real small v8

No, those newer T-birds are NOT supercharged. Just a small V-8 putting out 280 crank HP. I think they are a little on the heavy side too, so that's why his GTP beat it with only about 250 crank HP.
