went out to cecil county dragway with a buddy in his semi-modded 01 mustang gt 5-speed. his mods are CAI, mufflers, 3.73gears. was his first time out to the track ever to run his car and after a few runs he was able to cut a 1.92 60' on street tires and hit his pb of 13.68@100mph. pretty sweet with just those mods.
i ran a few runs but the best i could muster was a 13.3@103mph[:'(][X(] with a 2.04 60'. all the runs i ran i trapped 103mph, with either a 13.3 or 13.5 depending on my 60'. i was getting no knock through the 1-2 shift but a few in 2nd and 3rd and if i did, i just reduced the timing a bit to compensate. was running ~16-19* on the 3.1" pulley. i also have 3.29gears but i would think my trap speed would be a bit higher than 103?
the car was shifting at a hair over 6000RPMs. my friend took vids of my runs as well as my buddies and i'll post them when he gets the time. im honestly disappointed in the car but moreso in the tune. my wb was reading ~10.x and sometimes 9.x but i would get no knock though FWIW.
update:
i noticed yesterday going out and tuning with the 3.3" that when i filled up my washer fluid tank for the alky and did a few runs and popped the hood, i noticed the filler neck was still full . looks like the 100psi shurflo pump died(really old model b4 the 150psi came out tor eplace it). that explains why i had to run pig rich since ther was nothign else cooling the heated air running either the 3.3 or the 3.1 pulley . im gonna check on a few sites and look for a 150psi shurflo pump. i can run a 10.7afr with the 3.3" pulley right now with 16-18* of timing w/o the alky and it pulls decently well, but i still get like 4-6* of knock b4 and a bit after the 2-3 shift, and only the 2-3 shift. any ideas on what to do to either lower the degree of knock/timing being pulled or quicken the recovery rate at the 2-3 shift?
