I recently went to the track and put down a crazy time for a FWD V6. Im not sure if i want to continue to dump money into this platform or switch to a RWD v8 or just something with a lot more aftermarket support.

I went to midnight madness a couple days ago with a few friends so i could watch a friend of mine test out his turbo impala. It was way busier than usual and i got to focus on other modded cars times and trap speeds. Now i totally understand why people get mad when i beat them down the strip. There were cammed C5 corvettes and fbodies, 600cc bikes, and lots of other stuff people would consider fast running slower times than the POS fwd v6 i brought. More money was spent on there end to get there car near where the regal is now.

But what i mean is power vs $ spent. The corvette guys (the faster of the two had an 11.9x at 1XX) was shocked when he found out how much i paid to get the car there. He had spent over 10,000 on getting his car to the 11s. I spent around 2600.

lol. It was nice to be faster than some of the sport bikes there too. They were mainly 600s so nothing too serious. They were running mid to low 12s. I did get a personal win while i was there. My ex-girlfriend was there with her new boyfriend and his cam, head, header, etc f-body. They talked **** all year to me while i quietly added parts to the regal. I ran a 11.42 and he ran a 13.2X. No more **** talking lol

10k to build a car to hit 11's?

Guy must not have a clue how to do the work himself or he's just a person that follows what everyone else does. Minus the cost of the car you could do a camshaft/headers/gear change and be flying down the track for less than $2,000 if you know how to shop. Hell he could have went turbo or procharger for less than 10 grand and been into the 10's easy.

Thats what he said. Im assuming its not just engine work. The whole car was very clean so all of the engine/trans/brake/suspension work must have been done at a shop.

Money spent vs power is extremely subjective when discussing drag times. My Z28 is a 13 second car all day but with 1k I bet I could get 11's. Nitrous and drag radials.

Same with my gtp. Probably a 12 second ride all day every day.
If the tranny held I would bet money I could spray it as fast as yours.

The same goes both ways lol. I could spray and get into 10s......................once before the trans committed suicide.
