Honestly, I love the look of my stock rims on my car. I could spend a good chunk on rims, but why? Other than the fact that they're only 7" wide, I like 'em! Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I also wouldn't mind them sitting a bit more offset....

I had 1/4" spacers (I think) on my old grand am and loved the result. I didn't think that little space would make a difference, but it looked good. I know now I should have gotten longer studs, and I also hear I should be more careful with the quality of them. Can anyone clear up what would be safe to run on a car that, while a daily driver, has a decent amount of torque and a driver that enjoys using it?

I'm looking for brands, and past experiences or veiws on the idea. I know, cheaping out leads to trouble. But I wouldn't mind spending a bit to safely offset my stockers a bit. Here's a quick pic of my 17"s incase you wanted. Not a great pic, but first of the season up here in canada!

this is the only place you'll want to buy spacers from. i'd go with 25mm bolt on spacers with studs on them (design 3).

Ok I'll check it out! But I was thinking of just going with a 1/4" or maybe 1/2" spacer since I am just looking for a bit wider of a stance to be more flush with the fenders. The small ones I did on the old car brought them to flush so I wouldn't want to go an inch (25mm) and end up outside... Thoughts?

you'll need like a 2'' spacer to have the wheels even remotly close to being blush with the fenders

personally, imho, Id never ever run anything more than 20/25mm (1'') on a car.

Have you ran these spacers? I just remember thinking I'd need around an inch on the grand am as well, when the 1/4" ended up what I wanted. I jut don't want to end up with my wheels sticking of the fenders

some say yes, others say no. some also say, the thicker you go, you may have vibrations.

I dont. I was running them on my 1st car, which was stanced to all hell. I plan on running new spacers on my GTP. But i also have aftermarket wheels. and want a more agressive fitment

anything above like 5-8mm spacer and you'll need extended studs. at least going with a 25mm spacer it'll give you a bolt on solution and you'll be done. no need to do anything, not even trimming down the stock studs. and adding 25mm to the offset of the wheel is going to be the only way you'll get closer to a flush look. i'd honestly vote for a different set of wheels, but you don't want that.

no, it's just like running low offset wheels so long as everything is bolted on appropriately. everyone who says they are bad for bearings is terrible at physics.

I am not entirely solid on my knowledge of different offsets. Everyone gets different rims and I don't know how to transfer that to my rims plus spacer sizes

Lower the offset, further the wheel is going to stick out.

see 3/4 way down this page. Gives you a little idea on "fitment"

Personally i'd just get an aftermarket set of wheels. There's alot that look good on these cars. Stock looks like poo to me
