Those are the tires that it comes with if I chose the "combo" package.

I could probably just buy the Mustang Saleen rims and buy the correct tire size for the GP?

You need to watch the width of the rims you get too. Those rims are 9" wide and might give you Mexipoke, though with a +30 offset it might not.

The tires it comes with are cheap ass tires anyway. I wouldn't want them on my car personally. I'd find other tires. You can put 245's on 9" wide but the tire is at the point of starting to stretch. I know, I had 245's on a 9" wheel on my Stealth. It works, but it's not the best application.

I'm not too knowledgeable on wheel sizes. But I'm guessing +35 is a good offset if I can find some saleen rims that size, unless they're all the same.

I believe they come in either +35 or +25 so two options

Those ones in particular are +30, its on the specs tab. I usually see them either +30 or +24. +24 will almost definitely Mexipoke

I really like the look though.

    How would +30 look?

    [QUOTE=DanPrixGTP;1272535]Great information.

Looked at the Saleen chrome wheels from American Muscle. 5-spoke chrome rims. Exactly what I want. Look very clean and simple. $1,300 for all 4 with tires as well, not bad at all.

    http://www.americanmuscle.com/chrome...tomo-stan.html

It says it will come with 275/35-18 tires. Wouldn't 275 be too wide for the Grand Prix. or have to roll the fenders? Not sure.[/QUOTE

Yeah the kit they have may only give you the 275's but you can actually build your own kit with them as well and it can actually be cheaper than the kits they have depending on if you don't go to crazy on what tires you choose. On my Mustang for my set up I used the cheap tires that one of the guys commented on earlier that he said they were crap (Sumitomos) Well I can tell you when you are able to buy a 315 tire for $165 and it has butt loads of grip Is one hell of a bargain However they do have one fault (30,000 mile tread life) and is completely depending on if you can keep the car from spinning the wheels too much but then again these things are so cheap you could stock pile them if you really want to make some smoke "They smoke really nice" but once these tires are warm they are nice and sticky, Just to show how well they hold I know a guy who had put the same tires on his 87' Fox drag car for street tires these were able to handle his car just fine and his was a fully built 408 Stroker (around 550whp). (245's will be your best fit this is what i was running on my front wheels and had plenty of clearance lock to lock with no rub). these are not like a touring tire they are a High Performance tire that can take anything a GP can throw at them especially a stock GP in fact I am going to be buying two more 245's and two more 17x9 FR500's as soon as I can to put on my GTP and they look awesome on the car (saying from my test fit) a little bit too much fender gap but I can roll with that for a while the struts need to be replaced anyway. if you want to take a look they are on my page to see what I mean.

    Note:
My GTP 40th ann. 2dr with my FR500 wheels I just used the front wheels off of the Mustang and the fit was really nice. tires didn't stick out really at all but take in mind that the FR500's I used are only the 17"x9" which wheels and they made the car sit a little higher note the Fender gap will look like a 4x4 until you lower it. and 18's will be even worse. 275's will be a bit much but a 245/45/17 will sit right at the edge of the fender on the front and the rear will sit flush with the fender.

After my wheels and tires, lowering it and my SD Front Air Dam is installed I'll snap some pics to show you what it looks like. but so you don't have to go looking for it here is the pic I was talking about earlier

17x9 didn't make the car sit higher. The tire size is why you have the gap. 245/45/17 is one inch too short on a GP.

Yes. I am aware that it is caused by the tires not being the original size. So let me rephrase. the fender gap is and will be larger with shorter sidewalls untill you lower the car. Which is what I will be planning to do. Im just telling him that he will have the same 4x4 look untill he lowers his as well. My mustang had the same problem then I put lowering springs on it and l ta da the fender gap was fixed.

    Saleen Rims.

    18x9
    +30 offset?

    With 245/45 18 tires?

That's what I'm getting at so far. But wouldn't 245 tires stretch a little?

I've seen many saleen staggered rims for sale on CL but the rears are 18x10. Figured that's to wide for a GP?

No the 245's will give you some overhang on your wheels so they will be protected from curb rash. Had 3 sets of tires on my mustang and had no problems. They will definitely not have an issue of stretching and giving you the ricer tuck look if that is your worry. A 9" wheel will hold any tire from a 235 which will have a bit of stretch all the way to a 275 which will have tons of overhang. You will be fine with the 245's they will fit perfectly and give you plenty of tire to use.

considering a 9" wheel will hold a 225 on the bead all day, a 245 is cake. depends on the actual tire if it'll stretch or balloon.

These saleen mustang rims are probably what I'll purchase.

A few for sale on Craig'slist, but most of them are staggered. 18x9 in front and 18x10 in back. Not sure if the 10" rim in the back will cause issues. Wouldn't mind buying used to save some money.

Dan.. if you are heading 245-45-18 check out Bridgestone Potenza's say a RE970AS PP. I have those tires and the predecessor 960's on 18" Lucerne Super rims. Amazing tires if you can get yourself to throw the clams at them.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
