I have a '00 GTP and I want a lil change in appearance. I was thinking plastidipped rims and silver brake calipers. My car is the bronze metallic color, I know hard to work with. What do you guys think about black rims and painted calipers, maybe red calipers would look better than silver? Thanks for the opinions!

What style of wheels do you have? I would not go with red calipers with the bronze color.

spray paint is cheaper than plastidip and it looks way better (prepped correctly).

i'd actually avoid black, but that's just me.

Yes...go with silver or black calipers. I would not use spray paint for the wheels though, spray paint is harder to remove.

that's the point. you want it to be a permanent finish.

if you want to change colors you reprep and repaint.

If you dont prep the wheels correct spray painting them will look like crap in a couple months. Use anthricite gray plasti - dip and a coat of glossifier. If you dont like it, you can peel it at anytime.

These are mine using anthrecite gray and one "wet" coat of glossifier. I painted the front and rear lower valence parts to match. I have since lowered the car.

Agree with redgt03. Unless you paint the rims professionally/powdercoat they will look like garbage and start to peel after 2-3 months. Plastidip looks good if done correctly and is easy to remove if done correctly and lasts awhile. My last dip lasted over a year of abuse in harsh Mass winters. Clean the **** out of the wheels and do like 10 LIGHT coats getting heavier each coat. I use like 6 cans total spread evenly amung all 4. Also helps to toss the cans in some hot water in the sink for like 15 mins to heat it up. I do this for all my paint to help it from running esp in cold weather.

why's it so hard to properly sand down the wheels, use an etching primer, than paint? it's not brain surgery.

I agree that is not crazy difficult - just seems like people never do it right.
