im doing some future aftermarket wheel shopping for my 05 gxp and im looking at a set of 19 inch mach m5's and the offset is +45 and im trying to figure out what a good offset range is for this car so the rims dont rub up front or just stick out to far past the edge of the wheel well in general and look goofy. any help on this?

18in GXP rims might be a slightly lower offset than the 16in or 17in rims that are somewhere around 52.

Stay above a +36ish and you won't have an issue with rubbing. So +40-45 is a good spot to make sure it won't be an issue.

I believe stock is 52. I run 40 offset 18's and find them perfect to need only slight inner fender lip rolling, and the stance looks great. I have run 38 offsets, and the stance is nice as well. Most mustang rims are 38, so if you see a photo of a GP with bullitts, thats the look.

These are 40 offset 18" with 245 rubber

These are 45 offset 18" with 235 rubber

Thanks. I love the 40's as well. I since converted those 45's to winters with plasti-dipped black spokes...

you've got to realize that the difference of 10mm in offset isn't going to matter much. the wheel width plays a lot more into that.

until you get into the +30mm or less offsets, they all fit pretty fine.

No, the 45 is further in. I did not have to roll anything to run 45 offset with 235 rubber. I did have to roll a little for the 40's with 245 however, but that is lowered with 97-03 SSC springs. Stock ride height may be ok.
